No guilt hun! Enjoy your time one on one! xoxox (**Sobbing with you about school !)
I love doing it with my kids so much so I wish I could just pay for 2 daycare spots and rotate which one stays home with me each week![]()

Totally and utterly acceptable. As long as in the long run they all get some special one on one time!
DD1 and I go out for brunch once a month or so.. she misses out of stuff i do with DD2 while she is at school, and she feels 'big' sitting with just me having a special time, she always gets to order her food and pay herself, she is 5.
I plan to do this when DD arrives. My mum currently has DS on Fridays and still will while I am on mat leave but we will change it up a bit and some Fridays I plan to leave DD with her for a few hours and make sure DS has me to himself sometimes
I think it's very important for kids to have independent relationships with Mum and Dad. This includes time with and without siblings.

go for it!
DD and I do this all the time when DP is here to look after DD2.
DP's been away for a month and we've really been missing our one-on-one time so I'm going to take her away for the night, possibly a weekend, when he gets back.
When DD2 used to go to bed at a reasonable time (she's now turned into a night owl, we used to have "special movie nights" - just DD1 and I. Then she got to sleep in my bed with me as a special treat.
Jeez, that makes it sound like I don't give DD2 any attention but really what I'm trying to say is that I think one-on-one time is quite precious and I'll be doing all those things with DD2 when she's older too.
Thanks everyone - I'm so excited now
After reading all these replies I've decided I'm going to do it with both of my big kids (and DS2 when older) - YAY!!!
Good decision hun! Definitely don't feel guilty about it, I think its such a positive thing for kids and parents. Enjoy!
