Tell a parent they are doing an awesome job

I was in the supermarket the other day and a lovely old lady said to me “They should give all mums a medal” . It was lovely (and I was having a good day so I didn’t even really need it ) We ended up having quite a long conversation about her daughter that was born 3 months premature weighing only 2 pounds! The little old lady said her mother said to her “You’ve just given birth to a skinned rabbit” and I said “Oh great, did you say, yeah thanks mum just what I needed to hear right now!” and she said “Yes! That’s exactly how I felt”. Anyway her daughter was in hospital for 7 months and the doctors said she would never be a "normal" child. But she is, she’s living a full life and particularly enjoys scuba diving. So there ‘ya go!
