Glad to hear you've found it has worked for you. I have had a few friends who have really loved it too.
I've read it, and a bit like stranglelk, just taken a few ideas from it.
I think there is a presumption that babies don't like/won't follow a routine. But personally I think that gentle parenting is about responding to your babies needs and following their cues. For us, personally, our DS would demand to be fed every 2.5 hours during the day (practically to the minute) until about 10 weeks and so of course he would be fed then. And so there was a very predictable routine to our days, but it was one led by him with a few hints from books. And he flourished happily on it, and to me, that is still gentle parenting.
