My little baby squeak woke up very sick. I took her to the vets, he is a family friend. He told me he did not know what was actually wrong and why but her lungs are terrible and he was not liking it at all. He said he could not do anything, it is only a small practise.
Now I am at the uni vet waiting while they do ultrasounds and xrays to find the problem.
She is my baby, a hand raised her from a hours old when she was the size of a mouse. She is only 8.5 years old. I am not ready for her to leave me, they have to be able to help her.
Thanks beans and bubbaT.
They have an idea of what is wrong, it is her heart and lungs. She was given some meds to try and help but she is showing no signs of improvement at all. She is home with me now and I have the meds she needs overnight. My heart is breaking everytime I look at her. Her chances of recovering are not good but she is here with me instead and not in some metal cage alone.
My heart is broken, my baby passed away in my arms about an hour ago. It is unbelievable what happened, she was perfectly fine yesterday. It is not fair.
Thank you everyone. I am in shock I think. This has affected me more then I ever imagined. I have worked with animals for 16 years and seen so many pass away but Squeak was my baby and it happened so quickly and in all honesty it was pretty traumatic.
Marydean, I kept telling her it was okay to go, I really hope your right and she knew exactly how much I loved her.
Lilima, I remember your post and I hate that now I have a huge understanding of what you were/are feeling.
Rouge, I am so sorry about your cat. Nothing but hugs because I know your going to need them.
I know everything is still so raw and things will get better soon, but right now I am shattered.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I firmly believe though that our pets feel our love in a palpable way and I know being with you will have eased her passage.
