There has been a dog in our front garden all evening. It seems to have a hurt leg and no collar. We waited for our neighbours to come home but it wasnt their dog! So now we have this scared hurt dog camping out in our little driveway garden strip and its getting quite late & really cold.
What should we do?
Can you put it somewhere warm for tonight (a shed/garage) and call the council tomorrow? Are you willing to take it to a vet - it might have a microchip but could cost you?
Is there a local radio station that would put out a "found dog" notice?
I would try and secure it somewhere warm. If you think it is really sick, please call the RSPCA. They will tell you what to do.
Otherwise secure it somewhere till the morning and call the council
I live inner north suburb of Melbourne - so no idea if we have a local radio?? None that I know of. We have no shed or garage, we have a 2 bedroom house and then a bathroom and the rest of its one big open plan. So not really anywhere to put him, bareing in mind we have a baby and preppy in the house too (not knowing the dog, I dont want to risk anything going bad). I would bring him inside, but not sure where to put him...
And who do I call in the morning, I have a sick child and a plumber coming sometime in the morning...I cant really get to a vet tomorrow.
