The other thing that can cause dry retching and vomitting is having a tick. Make sure you check her all over for a tick, and if you are concerned bring her straight back to the RSPCA.

How's your girl going MrsS?
Hi there. The first thing that comes to mind is pancreatitis. It commonly happens around festivities as everyone is feeding the dog little tidbits of fatty foods (like sausages) which overloads the dog. It causes vomiting/dry retching and the dog is usually in a lot of pain in their abdomen. You would notice them pulling their tummy up and hunching over from the pain. It is a very acute thing in dogs and needs vet attention ASAP as they can die a very painful death from it. Anyway it is a severe scenario (although reasonably common really) but hopefully your doggie has already recovered. Let us know.
