Beata - you know, I have a theory about our pets. Those we love most and who show us unconditional love - they let us know when it's time to go.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss this week - I'm actually in tears as it's reminding me of my dog, Rex. I think your wonderful Pooky is letting you know, in her own way, that you're moving onto the next stage of your life, and you don't need to worry about her any more. She knows that soon you'll be holding another baby, who'll need more time and care than can be shared with her. She knows that it would be really hard for you to share your love and time between your new bubba and her - and she's lived a great life, and wants you to move on with great memories of her.

This is her gift to you - letting you know that her season in the sun is over, and she's moved into her autumn now, as you enter into spring with your new baby.

Your baby will know her - she's heard her purr in your belly, and felt the love you've given and recieved from Pooky. This will stay with your baby forever. S/he will wonder why s/he feels such love for cats - and that's Pooky's gift to your baby.

Farewell Pooky. Enjoy your run in the autumn sun over the rainbow bridge, and know the tears shed for you here allow the flowers to grow where you are now, to give you butterflies to chase until you meet your human again.
