as the title states!
The day we moved in to this house, there was a pretty little rooster roaming the street, there were people running around everywhere trying to catch the poor bugger, turns out he was the guy across the streets, but seeing as no one could catch him, they just let him go.
that was 3 years ago.
He was roosting in our olive tree behind the shed for quite a while, then moved to our fig tree, then to my disgust, our back porch (mounds of rooster poo!) he didnt stay there long though!
I never really thought much of it to be honest, till last summer, during that big heatwave we had (almost 2 weeks of 40+ days) i spied him looking a bit droopy and thought the poor bugger was probably on his last legs, I went out the back and filled up a bucket of water, he went straight to it and jumped in! I also had some barley that I scattered on the back lawn .
I always make sure the water is there for him, but apart from that time have never gone out of my way to feed him. I have noticed that he is back moseying around alot now, usually he disappears, then pops back up, but since our wild weather, he is hanging around.
whenever I am outside he will come up to me and just stare at me, I think he wants food.
I dont really know what to feed him, Ive never really entertained the thought of having a rooster! I live in the "burbs too!
so, does anyone have any ideas on what I should feed him? I dont really want to have to buy chook feed. I have a huge bag of sunflower seeds in the cupboard (from FIL sprouting )
