my dog is gone :(

i really thought he would have come home overnight. but he hasn't
i barely slept last night and have been up for hours already this morning driving around the neighbourhood.
my tears have started now and i feel like crap.

one of our dogs has "escaped" twice (house sitter didn't close the gates properly once, and someone reversed through our fence once!!) but each time we got calls pretty quickly ...

but my MIL and my sister each have had a cat run away, and both were gone about three days - but got home.

I really, really hope that:-

1) he comes home!!!
2) he is safe and well
3) you don't have to wait three whole days
4) you aren't too torn up during the wait ... waiting is awful ...

oh no i hope he turns up soon!! our neighbours (who are luckily retired so generally home) catch our escape artist of a dog all the time. does he talk to strangers or run away? thats our biggest issue with ours, shes scared of strangers so wont let them catch her, she thankfully knows our neighbours so will go with them.
i would definately door knock and ask, even if they have just seen someone catch ur pup and to take him to the local vet or pound. get those posters up, ive got everything crossed for you

Get a photo and do some signs around the neighbourhood, call the local pound, all the local vets and any shelters eg, rspca etc. My dog was missing for a few days and I kept doing the rounds and we eventually found her about a week later. She had caught a train to the city and then another one out to the end of the line so she was about 25km from home. She had slipped her collar and had no microchip - fortunately someone had her and reported her. I hope you find him It's just so worrying when you don't know ehere they are!

great news... he is back home now.
this morning i rang the pound and rspca and then the pound rang me straight back as a local vet had just called them to come pick him up from there.
someone had taken him there. so he is home safe and sound. did some more repairs to the fence and next week will book him in for a snip, chip and registered.

so glad he is home! with the chip, make sure you contact them each time your number or address changes. one of ours went walk about and they took him to the pound near our old address as we forgot to update details, a 2 hour trip just to pick the poor bugger up

thank God for good people, who take the trouble to bring lost animals to the vet where they can be safe, and reunited with their owners!!
