Give the worming treatment a couple of days and see how she goes.

Also, I'm not sure if dogs can get them but could it be haemorrhoids? Or an anal fissure?

If she's still carrying on in a few days see the vet just to be sure.

I agree it was probably the anal glands. They can get infected so if she doesn't stop in the next day or so I would get her checked out. Sound like you expressed them well but if they were a bit swollen or something she probably still has the feeling. At least you can add a new skill to your resume!

How old is she? Is she desexed? Girl dogs like to "rub" their butt/lady part on the floor when they are on heat. (To spread the scent!). It would also explain the licking. Otherwise I'd second the anal gland. Maybe get it checked out at the vets.

She is 4.5 and desexed - yesterday she was good again and then today she's back to being the same. So she's got an appointment with the vet on Wednesday.
