Thankyou everyone for your replies! today has been a very long, upsetting and empty day! My heart is breaking, i can't help but think of him, and its so quiet and lonely outside now!
Miss B has noticed Gus missing and she goes to the door and calls him than says "Gone"
I was out hanging washing out side and Miss B is calling for Gus over and over, was upsetting to see!
I miss my Gussy so much already!

Oh hun my heart is breaking for youWhat a beautiful way for you to describe his life with you. Just so precious. I am sure he knew how loved he was.Lots of love to you all and I hope Gus is having a great time up in doggy heaven digging lots, chasing cats and birds and eating gourmet dinners!!

It is very hard saying goodbye to a beloved pet..
I remember taking my 1st pet to the vet to say goodbye and I ran out crying..

He sounds like he was a spoilt with love little doggy. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. I bet he would not have enjoyed the remaining years of his life with pain and suffering. You were thinking of him when you decided to let him go. I would've done the same.
I will give my two girls and extra hug tonight and think of Gus as i am doing it.
