A snake

It's here, we literally got back 10min ago. It's only a baby so it's sort of cute (can't believe I said that) for now till it grows bigger. He's trying to convince me to hold it not gonna happen.

when i read "a snake" i though "shoot it" but seeing as its a pet (python im guessing) i think they're cute too. would never have one with the snakes we have here being all deadly but i hope your DS enjoys his snakes just think if you find a mouse you can let it find its place on the food chain

If you don't like snakes, my house would be the last place you would ever want to come. We have about 40 snakes.

When DH was away last year I accidently let 3 out. Luckily I found them pretty easily. DH use to have a large Diamond python that just lived in his room, mainly stayed under his pillow. He always kept his door closed and had a rubber slider thing at the bottom. He only put it away after for a feed and until it had done its business. Kept his mum out of his room

Sopdet, snakes are the best animals to have if you travel a lot. They don't require affection of a lot of attention. They can go a couple of weeks easy without food and aslong as they have enough water they are happy. Sounds like a good pet for you.

Friends of ours have recently opened a Reptile store and are also going to do shows/displays for kinders.

I don't mind them but would much rather have frogs instead

Today is feeding day, I just watched it eat a baby rat and it was so unbelievably fascinating. I had a bit of a freak out in the pet shop when DS opened the freezer, there were literally rats the size of guinea pigs and they were all just lying there, thought they would have been packaged or something.

When I think pet snake i think of that scene from Road Trip... funny stuff =) But they probably would be the easiest creatures to look after, just make sure the ...tank (i know its called something else fancy) the right temperature and feed once a week. and they are facinating creatures.
