I am so tired of dealing with our dogs poo. At the moment we lock him up over night in the paved area just outside the kitchen and he is locked up there when we go out during the day. So understandably he does poo there. If is poos are firm he does them near the gate to the laundry, bit of a pain, but not too bad to clean up. If they are sloppy he does them neat the kitchen door and gate to the driveway. The sloppier they are the closer to the door they get and sometimes up on the step.
He is an excitable dog, so will sometimes jump through his own poo I just don't understand how an animal could do that, maybe it is a dog thing, I am used to cats and their cleanliness. So he is banished outside today until it warms up and I can give him a bath.
He went to puppy school (3-6 months) at the local obedience club. When he was being house trained I did attempt to get him to poo in the one spot without much luck, it was getting to the point I was just thankful he was going outside. I spoke to the dog trainer about him and she said that some dogs just wont, it looks as though he has picked his own spots.
DH is going to building him a run soon (I hope ) so we can get the poo away from the house. For the moment though we have to deal with the poo. So my questions are:
What can we do to get rid of the poo smell? It now seems to be lingering at the back door. Water is not a problem as we have a bore, so can do lots of hosing.
Is it possible to retrain him to poo in a different area? The is a better corner for him to go in and it is one that he first used when we were training him.
