I don't want to be a downer, but toy dogs like Poodles and Maltese shouldn't be taken from their mother before 10-12 weeks. It can lead to long term health and behavioural problems. I recommend you taking the puppy to a vet and puppy school to learn how best to overcome this. Hopefully, the puppy wasn't from a puppy farm and not removed earlier.

nope, we actually met the breeder and everything!! She's a very well adjusted puppy and fitting in really nicely with us and it's only been 3 days. I personally believe 8 weeks is fine. Some dogs wean off their mother earlier than others too don't forget. This isn't our first dog either and we've done the whole puppy school thing before.

I do think your post was a bit negative TBH. I don't really agree with what you've just said. This post was a 'wohoooo' post actually. Perhaps I should have put it in that section to avoid negative comments.
