What pets do you have?

I have a Ginger moggy who lives with my parents, she's such a fatty and very placid. DS adores her, she's not too sure about him. Hoping to get a Ragdoll at the end of the year, I love fluffy, cuddly cats!

we have some nice colourful cichlid fish - we have yellow, blue ones and tiger looking ones and a jewel one

We have a cat a dog and 3 fish... (but you know that already)
Both the dog and cat came from pound/lost dogs home and the fish can't be killed, they were in an old pond that was full if slime, we thought that cat had eaten them and so didn't do anything for them for over a year... Then I moved the areas around and found them - did I feel bad - so now they have a nice big fish bowl inside.

If we had more land we would def have more animals, DH wants chooks, I would like ducks and horses again and we probably woukld get another dog!

Esme the golden retreiver= is a big, excitable 2year old puppy she was a bit naughty until we got Ned the standard poodle - I NEVER EVER thought in a million years I would own a poodle and neither did my DH but he is the best dog ever. He is a giant teddy bear

he is nearly one and come close to my hips

and he hasnt stopped growing. The kids climb all over them, feed them and play with them they are the best and very much part of the family.

Claude the cat likes to sit in you pants if you spend too long in the toilet, likes to drink out the toilet bowl and sit in the shower as soon as you have finished. He is starting to show his age and is getting a bit grumpy witht the kids.

We also have 2 oscars and 2 budgies

We have an old girl tortie cat who is the first and last member of the household to get hugs from DD2 every morning and night (they love each other). We also have a small fluffy dog who is more like a medium dog in temperament, he is an ace lap-warmer! I never thought I'd want a small dog but it's like having a little live teddy bear, he's gorgeous.

We have 2 fish (1 Oscar and 1 black belt) ...

We have 3 dogs. A pug (Toby) a chow chow (simba) and a Maltese x shihtzu (sp?) (Tia)

Tia is an inside puppy

she's my gal. She never leaves my side.

Toby and Simba do their own thing outside. Guard doggies.

and 2 golden albino axolotles

Loulabelle I have alpacas also. We have 8 and only a few days ago lost a little suri cria as he was been born

We have sheep too but only 2 are pets. Plus we have cows but only the milking cows are pets (the ones we can pat)

We have 3dogs, guinea pigs, 5 horses (my favourite is my clydesdale filly but I still have my ancient first horse, and three kids ponies), and that is all. Once we move to our farm we will get some chooks. We have mice also. Not inside thank the Lord and they are definately not pets.

Oh no! That's horrible! I would have cried my eyes out.
We've got suris too. We'll be getting a few more in the next couple of months. Our neighbor has some pregnant girls.
I'm am completely jealous that you have milking cows! I'm desperate for a couple. Are they much work?

I was devastated Loulabelle. The baby was everything I wanted. He was a lovely cream suri male who I would have had certified as a stud male (if he was good enough later on) And I'm not sure if I can breed from his mum again due to her age and I'm worried it will happen again. He was to big for her and by the time we knew she was birthing it was to late to save him. The good thing is mum although very sad is well. I'd be terribly upset if we lost her also. She was my only Suri. My others are Huacaya's. We do have one little cria who is 3weeks old and he is just gorgeous plus one more due to have her cria next month. I'm hoping for a female from her. I love them there just beautiful. We have a male but so far he hasn't been interested in doing what we brought him for. Or else the girls have scared him of by spitting at him so much. Poor thing.

No my milking cows are no work at all. I rarely milk them as we currently don't live on our property. We live in town. When we move we will milk share so I don't think it will be difficult at all. So I'd leave her calf with her and just lock it away for a number of hours and then milk mummy to get what we needed. I'd only need to do it every 2-4days as we are not big milk drinkers (just in the tea and breakfast and then in cakes etc. I'd only milk one who is a pure Jersey she came from a dairy and she is just so friendly and always looking for a treat. I'd love to eventually learn to make cheese and cream etc and be self sufficent but it will all have until we live there.

Loulabelle what are your Suri's? Weathers or ladies, one of each etc? We have 4 breeding females (1 pregnant, one just had her bub, one lost hers and another I've just weaned her baby from) then 2 female crias that are just weaned, one new male bub plus our male. I have to sell one or two to make DH happy. I'd love to keep them all!

Hi Everyone

I know this thread started a while back, but I am a total crazy dog lady and just felt the need to share that I have two amazing fur babies

My sister makes fun of me cos she is a cat person, but I love my babies so very much... I can't wait for them to meet our baby boy (mostly I can't wait to meet him tho:P)

We have Simba our 6 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, he is a 45kg sook

My big boy!

and then we have Zali, Rhodesian Ridgeback, she is out little girl 34kg and loves her big brother more than life itself!

We got them both from breeders who suggested one another, they are actually cousins as their mums are sisters.

We also have a DSH Cat named Lily who we rescued from the RSPCA, who also thinks she is a dog... she is an inside cat and used to keep to herself but lately has turned into the biggest lap cat in the world! We love it, we have been trying to make her do this for years lol

DH has a massive fish tank, which I refuse to have anything to do with apart from looking at it with my niece when she visits. It is a marine tank with heaps of different fish in it and pretty easy to maintain, I have caught DH a few times with a kitchen table chair pullled up just staring at it... WEIRDO lol He loves his fish tank.

2 dogs, 1 cat we HAD a fish before we went away but DP put a yabby in the tank and now the fish is gone.
DD1 thinks the worm farm are pets

I would like chooks, DP wants to get the girls guinea pigs and we want to get a pony when the girls are older.

We have a dog - Jack Russell (had two, but lost one to snake bite earlier this year

), three chooks and three fish. I'd have a cat too, if our dog wasn't such a rampant cat-chaser.

Our dog has been part of our family for nine and a half years and we love him to bits. Our chooks are delightful - very friendly and useful! It's also great to watch them wandering about and doing their thing. Easiest pets in the world to look after too.

I like the fish and so do all the kids that come by, but DP is not too fussed. They will come to the side of the tank to say hello (although probably just hoping to be fed) if someone comes nearby. We've had them for about four years. They need a bigger tank as they're outgrowing the current one.

For now we just have Finn the fluffy wonder-blonde cat. He's a big furry hot water bottle that thinks my lap is the best place for him.

Later once we buy our own home we'll look at a dog (maybe two) and possibly a reptile - I love snakes.
