Where do your pets sleep?
Every dog we've ever had has slept inside. Our old english now sleeps in the bedroom with my mum, and goes between his bed and bathroom floor, depending how warm he is.
He's always been close by. When we were back home he'd sleep outside our bedroom doors.
It's nice having a gatekeeper!!

My very small dog sleeps on my bed this time of year, when it's hot she often sleeps on the tiles. The cat has taken to sleeping IN the dirty clothes basket just recently! Sometimes she sleeps on the spare bed or on a rug on the lounge, usually in lounge once fires going.

2 x dogs are outside, they couldn't be trusted inside at night and i can't stand the hair everywhere anyway.
The cat is an outside cat, he actually goes and sleeps in the shed but on the rare occasion we let him inside he likes curling up on DD2's bed or we find him asleep at our feet.
I'm not a fan of animals in beds so it grosses me out a little TBH, no matter how cute & comfy he looks.

DC (dear canine) sleeps inside. He is a big dog but is old and skinny and I worry about him being cold even inside. Once we have a proper house he can be inside all of the time if he wants.

We have a greyhound who is also old and skinny so he sleeps inside in the diningroom on his bed. We keep the door shut so he can't wander up the hallway and wake me up with his ticky ticky toenails on the floorboards!
He sleeps outside during the day (because greyhounds sleep about 23 hours a day!) but has to come in at night so that he doesn't go berserk at the possums and keep the entire neighbourhood awake!

Our fat cat likes to mix it up:
12:00pm - DH home: blanket on couch
6:30pm - 9:30pm: any available lap
9:30pm - 11:00pm: blanket on couch
11:00pm - 4:00am: nose to oil heater in DD's room
4:00am - 6:00am: yelling in our ear for breakfast
6:30am - 12:00pm: in our bed or the dryer, whichever is warmer.

I have a German Sheppard and he sleeps inside next to my bed, but is DH isnt home he sleeps ON my bed with me

2 fur babies who take it in turns during the night of sleeping on our bed... Otherwise their beds on the floor. During the day anything goes - ottoman, tiles, couch, our bed, spare bed, outside on the grass soaking up the sun.

Our dog and chickens (!) sleep outside. We used to have our dogs inside but when we moved I decided it would be a good time for them to sleep outside b/c the hair that was dropped and the dirt & dust they'd carry inside was alot. It is mush easier to keep my house clean now! Our birds were inside at nighttime but in the laundry.

Dogs sleep outside in their kennel under the pergola. Madame Beagle wears a coat in winter and on the cold nights, they get to sleep in the laundry. I'd have MB inside and let her sleep anywhere, but Madame C ocker Spaniel can't control her bladder and contrary to what we know about her breed, she prefers to be outside. In summer, they drag their bed out of the kennel and sleep in the open air.
When we take them camping, they sleep in a crate with the crate covered by a blanket in our annex.

The older cat sleeps on our bed. By on our bed I mean in the crook of our legs, on my back, on DH's back, squeezed in between us. In and out of the covers whatever suits.
The kitten sleeps in his designated room until he's old enough not to destroy all the things when we sleep. But if he could I'm sure he'd sleep on my face. Because apparently my face is made of warm and therefore made for his sits. No one else's face for some reason meets his requirements though.
And for those with cats that demand breakfast...

Our two (Blue Heeler and cairn Terrorist) sleep inside but have been crate trained if we need to have them outside. The small terrorist likes to sleep on our bed taking up as much room as possible between us (so regularly gets kicked off). He then moves to the dog bed in our room or to the "fluffier" dog bed in the nursery next door or the bed near the fire. The Bluey sleeps in the living room either on the couch or her bed near the widow/fire........notably we have four windows along the front of the house, all have dog beds at them.
The horses all get tucked up in their warm stables at night with nice rugs on but I am sure the gelding would happily sleep in the house if we let him!

The furbaby sleeps wherever the furbaby wants to sleep, except for on the bed during the week. OK I'm relenting while I'm injured and furbaby is allowed to sleep next to me on the bed, but not between me and the edge of the bed because I'm sick of getting the death stares when I go to get out of the bed.

Unfortunately due to a child with an allergy, our only pets sleep in a big tank full of water.

The dog (Golden Lab, she's only 4months) sleeps in the laundry on her bed until she's a little bit older then will either be outside in a kennel on the veranda on stay in the laundry.
The cat sleeps wherever she feels like it. Now and in winter she's on my bed curled up right next to me inside or outside the blankets.

I've always had inside dogs too, so our guy sleeps inside and varies between lying on the floor against our door, or curled up on the family room rug. He has had lovely soft beds before but he's a nightmare and completely destroys them within 24 hours so until he's out of the chewing stage, he's on his own. He has free roam of the kitchen, dining and living areas and the hallway to our room, but not into our room. There is a baby gate across the other end of the hall to stop him getting into the girls' room. When he stops chewing things I have no doubt he will end up worming his way onto a bed somewhere.
The cat used to sleep on our bed, but got kicked out when we started closing the door on the dog. She has just discovered that the girls' beds are just as comfy so I've found her in there a lot of nights. Otherwise, she and the dog curl up together.
Lenny - have you tried non/hypo allergenic dogs or cats around your LO? We chose a breed that doesn't shed because I hate hair everywhere - cat is shocking and didn't want to make it even worse with the dog - and he is also supposed to be good for people with allergies. My SIL's husband and their son both have extreme allergies, including to animals, but no problems around either our dog, or another SIL's dog who has the same breed.
