Yes. I would have stopped or helped you. FWIW, I drove an hour round trip to rescue a frog my sister found hurt, but was too afraid to have it anywhere near her lol!!! The frog spent the night with us, was taken to the wildlife sanctuary, and survived. We drove another hour to release him where he was found.

I usually stop to check pouches if I see fresh native road-kill.
Lots of people around here carry spray paint in their cars so that they can mark them once they have been checked and save other people from stopping. For a long time I thought the spray painted road kill was some kind of art project

Good on you hun, Yep I definately would have done the same thing as you .... except I probably would have yelled out to the woman who came out of her house for a little help.
Thinking about it people probably assumed that they were your dogs ITMS (thats the problem with assumptions)
I often stop for dogs I see on the roads too, I try to call them over and if they come then I hang on to them and call the ranger if not I place a call to the ranger and let them know there is a dog on the road.
Even with DD, I would still do it. If the dog comes and seems friendly enough then I handle them but if they are wary of me I make a call and thats "the best" I can do without putting myself or DD at risk.

Thanks everyone. I'm actually most cross at the man I waved down. And it's starting to fester a little because I was told that I was getting a phone call this afternoon and that hasn't happened. I'm going to have to let it go and it's annoying me.
It would have been nice if someone had stopped. It would have been great if the guy who held them the first time I saw them, tied them up and called the ranger. Instead, he let them go. I get what you're saying, NaeNae, that it might have looked like they were mine, but I had two dogs tied to the pram by leads and I was there with the other two by collars and not moving. I was there for over half and hour. Plenty of people had a nice gawk at me! I guess there are some people who will give a shout out if something looks odd, but a lot won't. The ranger said that most people wouldn't stop. I guess he was happy that he got to pick up dogs that hadn't been hit.

Oh and Onyx - I didn't know that's why the animals were sprayed with paint! Makes sense!

Oh hun don't let it fester - you did a great thing and managed despite all the morons who just gawked. Thats the biggest problem we have as society that we do not even ASK if someone is ok these days (well except for a few people).

This is a off topic but once dh and I had a huge Barney and I walked off. He followed me in the car. He got out and pulled me back into the car as I held onto a fence on a busy main road (hilarious now but I was fuming at the time!) would you believe not one person stopped or even took our rego number to report it! Scary.

We've been caught out twice like that! My nan stopped once because there was a woman crying in the gutter. She got out of the car and started walking up to her and the woman got up and started screaming at a parked car. Nan realised her boyfriend/husband was in the car yelling back. So she walked right into a domestic! The other one was a couple of weeks ago. DH was coming home and saw a woman lying in the gravel on the side of the road (100km/h country road). He stopped and asked if she was okay - same thing. Having a fight with her partner. When DH stopped, the partner took off, leaving her there. DH tried to get her to call someone to come and get her, and she refused, so he called the police and they told him to move on, they'd go and pick her up.
But scary that you were hanging onto the fence and nobody stopped!
