over the years i missed taking one active pill quite a few times. i didn't have spotting or pregnancy as a result. pretty sure i missed them at different stages of my cycle. (clearly i have a horrible memory )

the spotting in your case may just be an adjustment to the pill? i'm not sure but if you just started the active pill, that means you're at the start of your cycle, doesn't it?
