We had a pretty worrying night after the first steroid shot, they didn't tell us that it would make baby move less for a little while, so I barely slept because it didn't have its nightly party, and in the morning it didn't move at all, so back to hospital we went for more monitoring (in another city as we had gone away for the night). All was well, and then a few hours later the consultant at my hospital called to let me know, by the way, steroids will make baby move less :/ bit late to tell me that! Had second shot in the afternoon and more monitoring, baby is breech and my hospital doesn't do vaginal breech births (I know I can argue and push back on this, but unless the other two issues resolve, I'm not willing to take more risks). Baby seems happy and healthy, so on Tuesday I'm going to ask about moxibustion if all is well to try and turn baby. I'm also drinking like its going out of fashion, opinions seem divided on whether that will increase fluid, and I figure it doesn't present any higher risk, so I'll give it a go! Fingers crossed I can keep baby in for another couple of weeks. I have packed my bag for hospital, and will get car seat installed this week, and try and restore some order to my house! I just wish my family lived nearer, I'm in Tassie, my bro is in Sydney, my sister is in Gladstone, QLD! My brother is so worried and wants to come home, but I said there's no point until baby is here at least. It's funny how the people in your life that you least expect to react that way, are the ones that go out of their way... He has been calling to check on me, trying to reassure me that everything will be ok and offered to contact everyone with updates, so that we don't have to deal with everyone if something happens. Probably sounds pretty standard behaviour I guess, but for me to put it in context would take all day! We lost our Dad a few years ago, right at a critical time, as my brother was just starting to have a 'friendly' relationship rather than dad and son. He became very aggressive and harsh towards the rest of the family, and in the last 12 months or so (since moving in with his girlfriend and her parents) he has just become the most gentle, caring person. Makes us all so happy, and he can't wait to be an uncle!
Well, after all that, I'll keep you posted once I know more on Tuesday
