    any SAHDs around western sydney?

I am in Penrith, I've recently gone back to work and my hubby is a SAHD for our two boys. I've been taking them to playgroup since #2 was born, but in a couple of weeks I'll be increasing my work days so won't be able to take them anymore

I really want him to get out and about a bit more than he does with the boys (3yo and 8mo) - but I think he's nervous about playgroups etc being full of women! Are there any SAHDs between Parramatta and the mountains that go out to a playgroup regularly?

    Thanks!

I s Penrith anywhere near North Ryde...I don't know Sydney well but know that Abs on here works from home as does his wife so he can spend more time with his boy and does the play group things and stuff and I am sure would love to meet other fulltime Dads if you pm'ed him. He is not online here much at the moment so may not see this thread so pm him and if I catch him on skype I will point him in your direction.

I am in Penrith and there is a Dad who brings his little girl to our playgroup. He fits in just fine and gets along with all the mums.

She's about 3 and I don't think her mum was ever the one to bring her (they've been going a lot longer than we have), I assume she works.

Thanks, Willow, I've sent you an email for some more info.

North Ryde is about 40-50mins drive at a guess - depending on traffic. It's a shame Sydney is so big!

    Hi Caroline,

Nice to see you over here. Can't say I know of any playgroups in the Penrith area but most Mums are pretty happy to have a dad join in. I am sure your DH would find some common ground. Especially if he continues to go along to the one you have been taking your boys too. At least the other mums & kids would be familar with your boys. You would also be a good ice breaker for him as he would have you in common with the other mums. They are bound to ask about you etc which would give him something to chat about KWIM?
