Hi Baby Pike, firstly congrats on your pregnancy!!

I had my DD at Manly Hospital & I loved it!! The staff were very kind (except for one) there was no rush for me to leave & it doesn't seem to get too busy there so I got my own room even though I was a public patient (my friend had her own room too only 2 weeks before me)

To give you an idea of how the staff treat you (or the way they treated me 2 years ago) is this story...

I suffered from hyperemisis (severe morning sickness) so I was put in hospital twice throughout my pregnancy to be rehydrated etc. I stayed over night both times & the staff told me that I can come back anytime.... & I quote, "even if you just need some rest" This amazed me, I'd never heard of such a thing being offered but they were great.

When the time came to giving birth the midwife who had been with me from pretty much the start stayed an extra hour & half after her shift had finished so she could be there with me til DD was safely delivered so that I "didnt have to get a stranger" she was so kind!

The only downside was the fact that they didnt seem to "push" you to breast feed, they seemed to let you give up very quickly... but thats up to you if you want to breastfeed or not....

We're hoping to meet up maybe tomorrow at Narrabeen if you'd like to join us. Let me know via email if you like

Hope to meet you soon,

Danielle
