My now 6 year old was born in Gosford, NSW and the mother's group I was a part of was part of the community early childhood nursing centre (I think that's the organisation) scheme there and we were offered "classes" and gatherings via the nurses who I'd take my son to for his checkups.
Is that how it works here in Brisbane or are you left to your own devices? I live at Greenslopes and will be (hopefully) having #2 at the RWH.
Im only new to Brisbane also and from what ive been told from Mums at my mothers group they do organise something from hospital. Unfortunately i didnt have my little boy here so i missed out on that, but just by chance joined up with a group that was having their first meet a few weeks after we moved here and its great. We all met on a site similar to this one (not sure if im allowed to mention the name of it on here), met for coffee and now meet at each others homes once a week. Its fantastic and new people join in all the time. The bubs range from 6 weeks to about 18 months which is a good range. Pity you're not on the North side..you could have joined ours!!!! Maybe you could start your own on here,
