If you want to come and meet up with us, you are more then welcome.
There are plenty of playgroups around, best bet is once you have found where you are going to live, ring the playgroup association and they will be able to give you some contact numbers.
Some area's have way too much demand and can be hard to get into (like my playgroup at Macgregor), but others have heaps of vacancies.
As for a crazy time to move, we moved to canberra when DD was 2 weeks old! With 4 days notice. We spent the first month from then camped with a newborn on my parents loungroom floor, trying to find a house to live in. talk about an experience I would have been happy without.
OK Everyone, I am thinking the end of May might be best (for purely selffish reasons :P ) - so what about May 26?th (or whatever that Wed is).
Next question is time? 10am or 11am suit everyone???
And then location. We can meet someplace like lollipops - costs about $10?? per child over 1yr + $3.50 per adult. Or if you would prefer to save money, we can meet up somewhere else (Park, or one of those indoor playareas at Westfields, etc).
Floor is open to anyone who has a preference - I am easy pleased now that I have my liscence and don't have to rely on public transport
Im new to here. But i have a 4 yr old DS and a 3 yr old DS and a 5 month old DD. Wouldnt mind tagging along if there is a meet up. If thats ok?

I'm in for lolly pops or somehting along that line otherwise i will be chasing r all over the place. And the 26th is a wednesday, 10 suits me as can do school drop of and go straight to where we are going.
Ok.. where is lollipops then???? I still get lost getting to the mall from my Aunt and Uncles!! My DH borrowed a tomtom navicator thing that has been my lifesaver this week while looking for houses, but he has taken it back to the work truck now I think i will need to get me one!!
Oh and also- we have applied for another house we like better than the one we got!! Its in Charnwood (but the nice part apparently!!) Its available on the 20th- so i will still be here in time for the meetup- and will be in need of a nice break!!
1st time mumma... Congrats on the birth of little Kailey!!! A few of us come from the northside- if you want to i am sure we could arrange a pick up.. although, the playcentre is a bit more fun for the older kiddies anyway, but i would def be in for a meet up for a cuppa and chat around belco
I am sooooo looking forward to getting out and about- and lil Shane is def in need of some kiddie play time!!!! Cant wait!!!!

misty: even though i currently suffer from pregnancy brain those dates and places sounds correct.
I have a midwife appt on Sept 23rd at 1.45pm, so i could come to the meet-up in the morning as long as someone can point me in the direction of public transport when we're finished so i can get over to the Calvary for my appointment.
I'll have to let you know about Oct 11th/12th, all will depend when this baby decides to come.
... 10 sounds great to me!! 
I think i will need to get me one!!
