Just thought I would let you all know I am going to be hosting a tupperware party on a sunday in November (either 14th or 28th) everyone is welcome - great chance to meet up and gossip, I don't expect anyone to buy anything you can just come and have a cuppa. Anyway, I will give out more details once I have it all booked in.
Joanne- the bus drivers dont really get crabby with prams i can help you get it on and off. My pram weighs 11kgs and has to be pulled apart (its a strider plus) and it is a royal PITA so i have my sling which i take K out in. And no the park is i guess half way up bryan hudson.
Mad4e- i had no idea you moved into macgregor!! and yes not far from me at all! im in herdson pl

KaileysMummy: thanks that would be great if you could help me get the pram on/off the bus, i'm going to see if i can borrow a sling to use for DS to make it a bit easier. I didnt know there were parks in the estate, but then we havent really driven around and had a look. We only worked out a few weeks ago that we could come from Florey Drive/Osburn Drive into the estate i had to use a map to figure that out.

JCE0810 - confused me! you changed your name! I actually have a carry pouch you can have if you want - it does need a wash, but is in good condition. I used it with my firstborn, but bought myself a sling for the other two, so it really hasn't been used since. Let me know if you want it, I can drop it aound easily enough. And if you decide you don't like it you can pass it onto someone else who might use it. :D

Can i just throw a massive HUMUNGOUS spanner in the works here!.... found out today from one of my other mummy pals here that on Tuesday 26th October is the annual once-a-year ACT Playgroups Expo, where you don't actually have to be a member of playgroup but they have a huge free festival for all Canberra kiddies ages 0-5 and their carers. It is only once a year, and this year is it Tues 26th October, and it goes from 10am-1pm. It is at the new Cook Community hub, which is at 41 Templeton St, Cook (still in Belconnen area).
The flier says:
- Everyone is welcome
- FREE children's entertainment
- Games, craft, physical activities, sport, music and fun
- Community organisations, get important information and FREE parenting resources
- FREE Childrens' activities
- Sporting organisations: come and try with your child.

Sounds like loads of fun, and on once a year only. My friend said she went to it last year and her kids had a ball.
So, thought I'd put it out there! I really want to go to it, and when I realised it was on the same day as the next planned meet-up, I decided to let you guys know too -hmm. What's the general feeling about staying with Belco Markets, or maybe going to this instead since it is only on once a year?
(I think i will go to this if you guys don't mind; I'm not in playgroup, but I just wanna go for all the free fun stuff! hehe). What do you guys think?

The Expo sounds fun, but I am not sure how those who rely on public transport would get there.... If everyone wants to go to the expo, I am happy to change, BUT if it is too hard transport wise for anyone to get there, I am happy to still meet up at the fresh food markets.
By the way, if anyone is wanting to go to a playgroup in MacGregor, now is the time to try and get into it. At the begining of the year it gets very full and we even get waiting lists, but our numbers have dropped off now and there are likely to be spots spare. If you want some contact details, pm me and I can give you a name and a number.
Just a note girls, my tupperware party has changed dates, it is now the 28th Nov at 3pm, and will possibly (but hopefully not) change dates again, I will keep you all updated and let you all know when I have it set in concrete.
The expo does sound fun, but i have no idea where Cook is or how i'd get there.

ETA: for those using public transport, i just had a quick look on the ACTON website and found that the number 10 bus goes along Templeton St but we'd have to go to 1 of the Belconnen interchanges to change buses 1st HTH.

For those catching public transport, just catch the bus to the depot and walk up to the markets is probably easiest - It is three blocks up from the depot. :D

Sharon - Have fun at the Expo, we can arrange another meet up for another day (I will never pass up a chance to socialise).
JCE0810 - The Carry pouch is like a baby bjorn carrier (but a cheap brand ;) ). It is like a backpack type thing, except the pack is at the front where you put the baby. Probably not describing it very well. But if you google the baby bjorn carrier you will get an idea what I am talking about. It is probably better for bigger babies rather then newborns (I love my sling for newborns.....well, actually I love my sling for every age).
One of my friends would prefer me to have my tupperware party on the saturday (27th November). How does a Saturday suit everyone??? Iam trying to actually get the date right this time, BEFORE I go back to the demonstrator and change the date again! I don't know how it happened but I seem to have gotten myself a life or something! I am double booked and so busy!

Well I am pretty set on going to the Expo, so I think a different day for belco would be good- then people have the option and dont have to miss out altogether! :-)
I have playgroup on wednesdays, so if we are changing the belco markets meet up- i would prefer a mon, thursday or friday (25th, 27th or 28th of October)
And if anyone who is relying on public transport would like to come to the Expo and wants a lift- i can fit one mummy, one child and an extra pram in my car. PM me if you want my number to talk details!!!
Also misty dear, you have put that the meet up is Tuesday october 16th.. i think your dates are doing your head in deary.. the 16th has been and gone!! :) We dont want to confuse people :p (being the organised not at all confused lot we are :D )

Either Monday or Friday at the Belco Fresh food markets. I am happy with either day, but I have yet to here from those relying on public transport (ie, Kailey's mummy, etc) as to what suits them best. I know what it is like to rely on public transport, and I don't want them to miss out.

An update on the markets, I was there today and they said that there is nothing open on Monday and Tuesdays, thus we will have to make it the Friday, I might even make a cake for Fia's birthday.
Louise: well you can stalk me on my mobile at the expo and we can meet-up and hopefully find some of the other ladies. Do they usually have things open at the markets on Monday & Tuesdays?, i've never been there before.

The other thing thats coming up too is.... Play School is coming to town at the end of the month!! You have to ring to book tickets- Kids Promotions 1300 788 028 - I am booked into the Saturday 30th October session at 11:30 Also the wiggles are coming in a few months- im not booked in for that yet but i will be going!!
