Mothers / Baby Group Wynnum / Manley / Brisbane..

    Hi All,

Im looking for a new baby / mothers group for my wife and Im hoping someone can help!

We both emigrated from the UK last year and are now the proud parents of a 4 month year old boy.

Its was pretty hard going for the first few months, what with colic type symptoms, a total dislike of the pram, the car seat, being outside, being inside........ We have turned a corner now though and he is finally turning into a happy little boy but the end result has been that my better half feels exhausted.

The main reason for the topic is that the inability to get outside during those first few months has made her feel quite dejected and lonely especially with me being at work full time and us not having any family or close friends living local.

If there is a small mothers group or any other mums out there that are feeling a bit helpless during the day would like to meet up with the most wonderful woman in the world and talk 'baby' and other stuff then please let me know!

I know its strange that I am posting this request but my Wife was too shy!

Please let me know if you can help or if you know of any other websites / contacts that arrange mothers / new mum groups.

    Thank you!

    Hi PinkPalace!

Is your group still going? I have 1.5 yo and 2.5 yo girls and am in the area - would my kids be too old? We've just moved to Australia from NZ a month ago today and are keen to meet some mums and bubs nearby as we were part of a group at home and really miss the contact. We've joined a couple of playgroup-type activities but find they're so big (and they're in Springwood, not the closest really lol) it's not so easy to get to know people.

I'm not sure how I can get your details though - I am not so keen to leave my email address publically (as these threads can be accessed by anyone, KWIM). So any ideas for swapping details would be appreciated, lol.

    Hi there,

I too am looking for a mothers group to join, i live at East Brisbane, but am happy to travel.
    I am an "older" mother - 40 - I have a 6 month old daughter.
Do you know of groups that are perhaps in my age range?

    Many thanks,
    Jo
