Boohoo, was looking forward to it.... Trac did you get the baptism organised?
Hi,
Was wondering if I may join this group? I live in Queanbeyan and have been in Canberra for 4 years and have no family here either!! Have a small group of friends most of them are without childern so it would be lovely to meet some other mums as it can get a little lonely here!!! I have gorgeous boy AIden who is almost 18 months and I am 8.5 weeks pregnant! Look forward to chatting :D
Cheapie,
There should be no prob in you joining in.
The week of teh 23rd sounds fine to me, just not monday.
The week of the 23rd sounds good to me too - just not wednesday, we have playgroup then.
Everyone is welcome to come - Tricky and At-nun I am not sure if you turned up today? We didn't see you, but are not sure if maybe you just didn't know who we were and wondered off again... I hope not.
Do you all want to meet in the same spot again or meet somewhere else? I can arrage to meet up elsewhere, provided there is a bus route - ie, brand depot, civic, woden etc.
Hiya mummies
Is anyone on Facebook? If you are and are interested, PM me your details and I will add you as a friend - nice way to learn a bit more about each other too ;)
Hope you missed me all terribly last week - I hate those last minute things with school - imagine if I was back at work sheesh!
What about Brand Depot play area on Tuesday 24/03 - Misty - you tell us the time as it will depend on your bus route! Might be less busy too than Belco?? ... easier for our southside ppl too ..
Hi Everyone
Yes i am a facebok mummy. I will PM you Sami with my details shortly.
I think Brand Depot would be a great idea and worth a try. That's if you are able to get a bus out there Misty. Are you able too?
Of course we missed you terribly Sami but we had a nice time anyway.....
Hope everyone is having a great day.
Cheapie, Tricky and At-nunhope you can also join us next time.......
Brand Depot - 24/3/09 sounds good. Why don't we set the time for either 10.30 or 11.00am - that will give me plenty of time to get out there :)
Hi Everyone, I'd love to join in as well. I got the link from SamiH in another thread.
My name is Kim and I have a 7 month old son. I've been in Canberra for a bit more than a year, originally from Shellharbour on the coast south of Wollongong.
My son's health has been a bit troublesome which makes it hard to get out much (for anything other than doctors appointments). But if I can make the next date and time you guys decide on I'd love to meet you all!
Cheers, Kim.
Hello Everyone
Wow we have been quiet in here everyone must be extremely busy with their children and families.
Looking forward to the meet up on the 24/03, so are we meeting around 10:30am?
Sami - How is things? How is Zander and his teething?
Sweetpea - How is Reaghan? Is she fully crawling now?
Misty - How are Nathaniel and Angelica? How is the pregnancy going? Have you had the ultrasound to find out what your having yet?
KimBear - We would love to meet you at our next catch up and i hope that you will be able to join us. Hope your son is doing well? I am from Nowra so i use to go shopping in Shellharbour all the time, it's a nice place Shellharbour.
Chepie - How are you? Hope you are able to join us on the 24/03. How is your pregnancy going? How is your darling son? 18 months wow that is a nice age just before tantrums start and they are learning so much and growing so quickly.
At-num - How are you and your baby going? Do you have a son or daughter? Hope you can also join us on the 24/03 as we would love to meet you.
Tricky - How are you and your bub going? I have a son also and he is 3 mths old so around the same age as your bub. I also have a 4 yr old daughter. Hope you can catch up with us for a coffee and chat on the 24/03
AFM - Well not much has been happening here. Brearna has been in fine form and i keep being told that it is just her age (well i am hoping she gets over it soon). Jaylan is trying to roll he gets the legs up and sways but no much more than that. To be honest i am quite happy him not moving to much at the moment. He has moved into his big cot :crying: but he was just getting to big for his cradle (my boy is growing to quick).
well best be off as i thought i would start my day early since Jaylan was up at 6am no point going back to bed.
Take Care Everyone and Look Forward to hearing from you all soon.:hooray:
PS: Are there anymore Facebook Mummies out there in this group??
I am having another little BOY :) Although with the way Nate is this morning I am wondering if that is actually a good thing  We had a scan yesterday.
Does anyone else just feel like it would be nice to have a holiday from this parenting business? I would love some time just to be by myself with out the kids for a while. Of course the sad thing is that I know if I could have a holiday without the kids around I would spend the whole time thinking about them and wishing they were there. It's a catch 22 isn't it.
Still I am thinking of asking mum to babysit overnight one weekend and running away with Tim to Sydney before I have another baby to care for as well.
How does 10.30 sound to everyone? I am looking forward to going out to Brand depot. I don't go out there often, so plan on having a good long look around whilst I am out there.
Congatulations Mist on another little boy. I think it would be a good Idea for you to have the kids looked after and have a night for you and Tim. It is the one thing I miss now we have an ours is our time with no kids lol.
Trac73, not only is she fully crawling but also pulling to stand and cruizing the furiniture. It is scary how fast she is developing.
1030 sound good to me.
Hope that all the new people to this thread can come and join us on the 24/04
24/03 not 23/04???
oops ment 24/03 lol
Hiii :)
We moved to Canberra about 2 years ago nearly now, from Bowral but originally from Sydney, and we're loving it. We're in the Gungahlin area.
Just confirmed BFP with 3rd baby, Yahoo!!! Interested in hearing experiences about Calvary hospital! Did you go with Midwives Clinic/Birthing Centre or OB?
Looking forward to chatting!! xxx
welcome, Mrsmac, glad you found it.
I had all mine with the midwife clinic, if you need to see an ob for anything they call the one on call. It was great, with my last little one I had two student midwifes for the delivery and it was a great experience even though I was induced, they let me do what I wanted and dh even did the delivery.
You should try and come to the meet up next week.
MrsMc - i am going through Calvary Public with this pg (my third), I don't really have any feedback at this stage - But can certainly let you know later on. What age are your other kids? Are you planning on coming to meet up at brand depot next tuesday (24/03/09)? It would be nice to meet you. I live out near Belconnen.
My other kidlets are 5 and a half and 4 years old :)
I would REALLY like to go through a midwife clinic, but this high blood pressure and last preg being high risk because of it, I don't know if I will be alloawed.
I really don't like too much intervention, had lots of it both times and I don't feel it helped. I would like NOT to be on a bed this time :) :)
Hi everyone
MrsMc - I have gone through midwife clinic twice at Calvary and have had wonderful experiences - my last the best - but I also had a doula, fantastic midwives on (lucky for me), a good ob on duty and knew exactly what I wanted etc.
With your medical history - they still might take you on, but have you reviewed more frequently by Ob, or shared care seeing your GP every two weeks or something like that. Ring the clinic and ask to speak to Cathy - she is the head midwife at the clinic and is fabulous.
I am in Gungahlin too :)
Hope you can make 24/03 - next Tuesday meet up - we can chat about it more then.
Nothing much happening here - Zander will be 6 months old next week and I am already sad about my last baby growing up lol -pathetic hey.
Will continue to check in :)
Mrsmac, I went threw the midwife clinic and with my first to had pre e/ high bp and all they did was I saw the ob who was on each time I had an appointment (so different one just about each time) and the head honchoe called in when necessary and they were great, both my first were induced early due to my pre e. So you def can go there. You will be under your gp till afound 14 weeks from memory.
Hi ladies,
Thanks for the warm welcome! Sorry I was offline but we were all sick with gastro!! Ah dear it was horrid anyways we are all better now!! I would love to catch up next Tuesday!! Thanks for the invite!
Trac73 - I am begining to enjoy my pregnancy more as the horrid ms is easing off and I have more engery!! Aiden loves to throw a tanty at moment and its really funny!! Ah I remember when Aiden went into his big cot!! Its so hard hey..
MrsMc - I am going through the birthing centre at Canberra Hospital, so I am no help about Calvary -sorry!
misty- my mum was just saying that DH and I need a night away!! As we haven't had one since Aiden was born! I feel guilty leaving him all night!! But I do think that we should before bubba 2 comes along!
SamiH - They grow so quickly don't they - it must be that little harder knowing that he is your last little one
Anyways big hi to everyone and I am looking forwarding to meeting you and your little ones x
Chepie - The first time I ever had a night without Jelly, I was eight months pg with Nate and she was about 21mths. This was partly because I feel a little lost without my 'kids' around me all the time (even though they are exhausting) and partly because I find it really hard to ask for help off anyone, even if it is just babysitting for a night. It really is worth doing it occaisionally though - even if I do spend the entire time annoying DH, going on about how much I miss the kids. :)
I look forward to seeing everyone next tuesday, and meeting those I haven't met yet. Do we need a sign so you know who we are???
Just bumping this up as a reminder to everyone about our meet next Tuesday 24th March at 10pm at brand depot play area in the food court.
Hope everyone had good week and will have a great weekend.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Hey Everyone
Little confused (soesn't take much these days)
Are we meeting in the Lollipops or the free play area in the food court? Either doesn't worry me. Also are we meeting 10am or 10pm sweetpea lol............
Hope everyone can make it looking forward to getting together for a cuppa and chat.
A quick post to Misty.......
Congrats for :itsaboy: another precious bundle. Wow October will come around fast too and he will be here before you know it.
um maybe start at the free play area and go from there and yeah 10am sounds better. LOL
I will see everyone tomorrow - 10.00am at the free play area. :) I am looking forward to it.
We had a not so great weekend at our house. One of or cat's died, we think it was a snakebite. Nate is way too young to understand anything except the cat is missing. But Angelica keeps on asking 'why'. She has made up her own little story about what happened to the cat, will tell anyone who will listen and then ask 'why' the snake bit the cat, or 'why' he wouldn't wake up, or 'why' something else.
Sorry to hear about your cat Misty :cry::cry: It is hard when children are a bit older and start to ask too many questions. Goodluck with answering them for Angelica.
Looking forward to tomorrow. A good cuppa and chat is just what i feel like at the moment. I am having a litle trouble with Brearna's behaviour at the moment and i am not sure if she is going through the oh my goodness Jaylan is here to stay or something is happening at her father's house. To be honest it is kinda tough at the moment.
Jaylan is capnapping through the day but sleeps most of the night now but whenever i say that he starts to wake through the night again so hopefully i haven't jinxed myself.
I am feeling really tired at the moment and would just love a break and be able to go away on a girls weekend, drink, eat, go to the movies and just not have to worry abotu children for a couple of days. Wow that sounds like heaven...............i will just have to keep dreaming.
Well see you all tomorrow and i am hoping all our new friends are able to join us as well.
Hi girls, I can't make it today. :( :( :(
My munchkin is doing MUCH better, but still in the midst of paed, physio, dietician, etc appointments. Hopefully things will settle down soon though because we seem to be winning with his treatment and everything is entering the 'maintenance' phase  So maybe next time :crossfingers:
Was looking forward to meeting you all too! Have a big coffee for me :)
thats a shame Kim
i neeeeeeeeed coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee & donut
just putting z down for a nap now ;)
Hi
Great catchup yesterday - couldnt believe it when I checked the time and it was 12.45pm!
Anyway, I am going to Mums & Bubs session on Thursday 02/04 at Belconnen to see Duplicity if anyone is interested. Dunno what time it starts yet but is usually the first session of the day so around 10ish.
Hi All
I am hoping I can join in???
I live on the Southside and I would love to meet up with other mums. I am not new to Canberra. (I have been here 8yrs). I am hoping to make some friends here as all the friends that I have work and only one has kids. I am starting to go a little insane here at home. I have a 17 month old boy. I would love to meet up anytime!
No worries KJ - just keep an eye on this thread. Next time we might go to Lollipops or somewhere like that so the mums with other kids can relax - poor chepie yesterday didn't have a chance ;)
My son goes to school and daughter in child care on Tuesdays and preschool on Thurs/Fri so I usually just have baby Zander.
Girls, I thought Brand Dpot was good middle ground for most of us - what do you think? \
Misty on the back of shopadockets there is a buy one entry, get one free for Lollipops until 04/05 - I will try and gather some.
Then if Chepie and KJ can make it you guys can halve the admission or something - and depending if you have Miss B Tracy - we can figure something out to make it as leasst expensive as possible.
I am gunna go out on a limb and propose another day - Tuesday seemed to work well - 28/04??? the two weeks prior are school holidays so is likely to be much busier ....
28/04 sounds good to me. And year I think a play centre would be good to for the older ones.
Hi All
I am the same as you Sam i couldn't believe the time and how fast it disappeared, i ma thinking next time i will have a 2nd coffee.
The 28/04 i won't have Brearna but i will have her the following week but i am happy either way. I was just thinking of someone for Angelica to play with as they seemed to get along well yesterday.
I agree totally about going to lollipops or somewhere like that so then all of the mums can chat rather than chase their bubs.......i felt sorry for cheapie yesterday but next time it will be better and we can all chat.
KJ we would love for you to join us as the more the merrier. I am on the southside too in Tuggeranong.
Well looking forward to the next meet maybe we could do something in the holidays too if everyone is up too it? I have Brearna the second week only
Take Care everyone and chat soon
Sam - enjoy your movie tomorrow :D
Ccount me in :)
