    Red face playgroups/mothers groups/exercise groups...hervey bay

i am new to hervey bay and was looking to join a play group or mothers group, possibly even a mum and baby walking group...i have two baby girls 17 months and 5 months and i have never attended any playgroups because my area was not the best..
hervey bay seems great, could anyone tell me if there are any of these groups running.
    thanx

    New to Hervey Bay too

    Hi,
I have just moved to Hervey Bay this month too and have no idea where to look for a mothers group. I have a two month old little boy and am living in Pialba. Let me know how you go with a search for a mothers group, or if you want to catch up for a walk. We love Hervey Bay too!

    Hi Ladies,

I spotted this post yesterday so I asked my Sis in law today where she attends in Hervey Bay. She said at the Salvation Army Centre, but couldn't remember the street. I Googled it and it should be in Robertson St, Torquay/Urangan. She said it was one of the better ones. You could also try searching for another at www.playgroupaustralia.com.au

I'm 8w 5d pregnant, so will be joining you there next year!

I live on Fraser Island at this point, but will move back to Hervey Bay towards the end of the year when I get closer.

    Good luck with the playgroups!

    Hi Bubbaangel,
I would be interested in going for walks or something, it is just I havent got access to a car all the time, it depends on when my husband is working unless you happen to live nearby it might be hard til we settle in (and I get myself a car!) I am living near the TAFE in Pialba, is that anywhere close to you?

    I'm moving to HVB too

    Hi everyone.

I am moving to hervey bay too - as soon as our house sells in Melbourne. We have family up there and after having my DD who is now 6mths we need to be closer to them. I am also quite scared to make the move, but i'm sure it will be fine.

Did you all just recently move to HVB? Can't believe the amount of people moving there. I don't actually usually post on this site, as i am a Save our sleep follower and chat on those forums, but there is no one from HVB and it would be great to make contact with you guys when i get there.

I am 31 and married with my first daughter. i have 2 dogs, and love walking!!

    just a bit of background...

    Hi Lisa

We have been here since Mid May, it has taken a bit for my husband to get work as he didnt have a trade, they say things have quietened down but expect them to pick up at the end of the year at the moment he is working for a pretty ****ty wage. Aside from that it is great, I'd recommend applying for jobs before leaving it takes ages to get things moving. The weather is great (even tho they think it is winter!) you wont think so being from Melbourne! I am 33 and have a almost four month old boy, and two little jack russell dogs and am married. We are living Pialba/Urraween suburb which is great coz I can walk the big shopping centre, but living near the esplanade would be great for walks. I love living here, the other great thing besides weather, scenery, beaches and shops is the big wide walking tracks and footpaths every where, great for a pusher. I'm just happy not to have to light the fire too. We'll definetly catch up when you get here, you can email me on melissa_poynton@hotmail.com (HAVE FUN MOVING THAT PART SUX) One more thing, to look for the jobs that are in the paper for your hubby, if he hasnt got one lined up. Go to www.worksearch.com.au and search on fraser coast. Seeya Mel

    Mums in Hervey Bay

    Hi Ladies!
I am doing this on behalf of my sister who lives in Hervey Bay, she has been there nearly 12 months and has two daughters 6 and 3 and son, 2wks!!! Apart from meeting a few mothers at her eldest's school, I know she goes regularly to some sort of playgroup/get together at her local library (she lives in Scarness) and apparently the kids can borrow toys from there. She would love to meet up with other mums for coffee/walk/park etc, she will be up and running with a computer soon but in the meantime let me know if your interested and I can pass on her no and maybe you could txt! Im sure she would be glad to meet you!

    Mums in Hervey Bay!

    Hi Tali,
My sister would love to meet up with you as funnily enough, she lived in Cairns as well!!!
her children are the same age as yours, except with a 2wk old baby boy. She is 33. Since her daughter and your son are similar in age (she is 7 in Jan) perhaps you could talk about schools etc and childcare for the others if need be, she is only renting but has been around Hervey Bay long enough now to know where/where not to buy etc so may be able to help you out! Her daughter goes to Pialba primary and her nearly 4yr old daughter will be going to kindy next year.
    thanks! gemma

    Hi girls,

Melissa, thank you for your email, i have added it to my contacts and will definately look you up when i get there. our house is taking ages to sell, so fingers crossed it does soon as i don't want to move there in summer. we are from brisbane originally but have been in melbourne for 4 years and have acclimatised to melbourne weather so air conditioning all the way!!!!

we are planning on moving to either scarness, pialba, kawungan, or urraween. our family is in scarness, wondunna, and pialba and so we are familiar with these suburbs. also for those of you with older kids i know that kawungan state primary is one of the best primary schools up there and they are now zoning it as it's getting too big...something to keep in mind when buying up there - make sure you are in the zone.

my husband already has a job, he will be working for the same company as he is here but from home. this is great and i can't wait to get there. it will make a huge difference having our own friends and not just family....if you know what i mean...

Hey Nicky, I am sorry to say we didnt end up moving to HVB as you can see we moved close to my Family in Melbourne I am begining to wonder why.... Its so very cold ATM....

BHL and I are skirting around the fact the we both think we might have made a big mistake moving out of QLD but I dont think we are ready to amit it yet... So you never know we might make it to HVB one day after all.... but for the next 2 yrs( maybe less) we are here...

I hope you get to meet some people from around there.... enjoy swimming in summer without those stinger hanging around....
