    Smile Hello Townsville Mums

    Hello Townsville Mums

My name is Sarah I'm 35 and I've 3 children Emily 3 and twin boys 14 months Thomas & Jake, we are currently in the UK but are hoping that we are moving to Townsville in July/August time, although my husband will be coming before Easter if he gets the job he is applying for, which is looking quite certain.

I was hoping that you'd be able to help me with any toddler groups, places to go, places to live, schools and anything else really, unfortunately I'm leaving behind a fantastic group of friends who I meet up with all the time and Emily has already started preschool here and we are really quite settled, so I'm quite worried about being by myself whilst my DH is out at work all day, so any info at all would be greatly appreciate.

    Thanks
    Sarah

Hello Sarah and welcome!! well it really depends if you prefer to live closer to the city..although its not that big..we have always lived in kirwan and find it fantastic, if you prefer to be just outside of town Bushland beach is another great area. I dont really know of any to avoid but I am sure some of the other girls will have more info..
Schools....well mine are not school age but again it depends on where you live as to where they can go as the schools are zoned.

There are plenty of registered playgroups through playgroups australia which you can look at on there website or then there are just mothers groups for catch ups at playcentres etc, which is what most of us do

Sorry i am not much more help.

    Hi Sarah!

I live just out of town in Bushland Beach, which is a lovely new estate, had no problems with being here! Its not that far to get into town, I do it often enough no worries As for playgroups etc, I just catch up with different friends here and there, and that makes us happy enough. I know a few groups you could go to, you'd always be more than welcome

If we're still here in July/August Id be more than happy to catch up with you! I will have a 3yo son, a 18mth old son (same age as your little boys as he's 14mths now!) and a few-months-old son.

    Im still here

My parents arrive on Friday morning for the weekend and are leaving on Monday morning. I so wish Mum would say that she wants to stay and help, but I kind of doubt it. She will be up in June for a while though, but DH will be home then too.

Smile We are Moving to Townsville - help please

    Hi Everyone
My husband has finally had his job offer and starts work on the 27th April with me and my 3 little ones following hopefully very shortly after.

Hoping for a bit of help/advise from someone, my husband gets a car with his job and I was wondering what the public transport was like as it would be ideal if we didn't have to get another car for me, I do have twin boys 15 months old and still in pushchair and a very lazy 3 year old girl who goes on a buggy board, would the buses be ok with that, some of our local ones don't let you on unless you can fold up your puschaire - how very helpful - no wonder we are moving to Australia.

Looking forward to your replies, thank you
    Sarah
