We did this with our newborn and it worked OK...although only when there was no other option (ie. all other MCN on the line or dirty) as it is quite bulky. He is 10 weeks now, and the GK with insert fit well.

He is 10 weeks now, and the GK with insert fit well.can you use them as covers instead and put the prefold like a normal prefold (ie, not in the pocket) and then use the pocket shell as a cover?
