I know you'll hate me for it wysiwyg, but school is not a babysitting service and financially it might be better for someone to return to work one year earlier, but alternative arrangements should be made.
School is not a place for a child to go so a parent can work. That is selfish. Putting ones own immediate financial gain ahead of the pressure that an unready child puts on an already struggling school system. That child takes focus, time, and attention away from the other children. So to everyone else's detriment.
And I haven't even mentioned the emotional toll on the child itself.
Immediate family finances should never come into it.
