Laney - it's friday in Aus..... which means Jo might be enjoying her newborn cuddles right now, or still in labour... oh my.... oh my. Can you let us know if you find something on facebook?
Jo - thinking of you and wishing you a safe and speedy induction and birth. Just to be contratry to Laney I am going to say blue, even though I am really thinking pink. Ha, cant really have a bet each way can I.
Teni - any more updates?
Powelly - how about you? How are you going?
JLK - I know its been ages since you posted, but just wanted to make sure that all is well with you and your precious little one.
Miss B - any more news on the birthday plans? I am already thinking about it and have NO IDEA.... I just used up all my emotional energy to organise the interment service for our angels - candles, balloons, buterflies... it took so much time and thought.
I am off, I managed to make the cat sick by giving him tuna. As he threw up for the second time I remembered... ah human tuna, not recomended for cats. Poor wee cat. Seems all good now, snoring away, fast asleep.
JLK - good to hear from you - wow 7 months seems so old... LOL, Hannah is 5 months now. How time flies when you're not anxiously pregnant... Hope you and your family are well.
Jo - congratluations on the arrival of your wee little man Gabriel.... a march baby boy! Can't wait to hear more about his arrival and your birth experiences. Take care and enjoy the newborn cuddles.
Oh wow congratulations Jo on the arrival of your wee man !!!! What a beautiful surprise for me today on belly to hear of his arrival !! I have been stalking you too
Welcome to this world precious little Gabriel, and many kisses and cuddles from Auntie B!!!! A nice month to be born in! hehehehehehehe.
Teni - I don't have you on FB, so I'm gunna try and guess.... either you're in pre labour now or you got an induction date or a caesear date..... but by your post you seem happy enough , so YAY.. bring it on.
excellent news... you've got a date, and that's really cool, cause you get to meet Cookie real soon. ( better than waiting another 2 weeks - be like being int eh 2ww again)...
Teni, how exciting about your induction date!! I hope all goes perfectly for you and Cookie is nice to you with an easy labour
Thanks for the congrats messages - we got home from the hospital yesterday and I am pretty tired so haven't really had the energy to get online much. I just had a good 2 hour + nap so am feeling a bit refreshed which is a nice change!
As Laney updated, our Gabe arrived on Thursday after a fast labour...the stitch removal was a pretty traumatic part of the day with my cervix refusing to give it up without a fight so my ob had to go in there 3 times trying to get it which was VERY painful for me (I was under gas for that) and had me at the point of mentioning the epidural word. I was even hitting my ob in his side yelling at him to stop touching me lol but he finally got it. I went from 1cm to 7cm almost the instant that happened so that shows the stitch was doing its job! A contraction or so later I felt Gabe move down and then it was game on and he was coming whether we liked it or not! I now know all about that "urge to push" feeling I had read about and my body just took over and basically did it without me. I followed my ob and the midwife's instructions about how to breathe and when to hold back on the pushing and it wouldnt have been longer than about half an hour from when the stitch was cut to when Gabe was born. No tearing or any damage to me YAY
I think on my official birth records it states my actual full labour went for 1.5hrs which must include the time before the stitch being cut when they had me on the drip contracting for a bit (and getting nowhere thanks to that damn stitch grrr). So, yes a quick labour either way!
Had a bit of a setback while in hospital as I managed to get mastitis before my milk had even properly come in and that knocked me around to the point that I was on IV antibiotics for 2 days but it did the trick and we got to come home as planned yesterday and all has been good since then other than the usual milk engorgement fun!
Gabe is so far a very placid little guy and barely cries but I am waiting for that to change as he starts waking up a bit more. I have to wake him in the day for his feeds so in retaliation he likes to party most of the night feeding He is a champion little feeder though, very efficient and fast at getting the job done which makes it easier although his attachment is still to be perfected somewhat but we get there.
Anyway, enough from me! Teni, again a big good luck for the end of the week and make sure you let us know how you go!
Jo - I am so glad to hear from you, and my my that was quick, the stitch was doing a great job, but Gabe was just ready to get his newborn cuddles. I do know what you mean about the stitch removal being unpleasant, but yours just sounds brutal.... but well worth it. Give you little man a hug for me.
Teni - being induced today... YAY....... anxiously waiting for your most excellent news that Cookie has made a grand entrance.... be brave my sweet, it is well worth it....... I am so happy for you that I have tears in my eyes as I type.... hugs to Scott too.
Well got to run just couldn't resist coming in to check once I saw Jo had posted and then remembered that today is Wednesday.
Jo, that stitch did some amazing work! Wow, that was fast! How is everything going? I still have my fingers crossed that you have a great sleeper too!
jlk, Tehya is getting so big!
I gave away all of the baby clothes that I had started to collect for Shelby. A new mom joined my mommy group. Her and DH are having a difficult time financially and are about to have a baby girl. I knew that it was time and I wanted them to go to good use. It was a hard thing to do.
I have been struggling with the idea of having another baby at some point. My new PCP told me that I would be crazy to try for another baby after having a blood clot in my leg. My OB thinks that I would be fine but I now have 2 boys to think about.
