    4 weeks pregnant

    Good morning

I was late on the weekend for AF (am never late) so hubby and I who have been TTC for one month did a preg test (then another two over the course of the weekend) and guess what I'm pregnant !

I am going to see a doctor today to confirm just wondering what to expect at my very first appointment (I have no idea) will they just do a bloodtest/urine test to confirm pregnancy ?

    Thanks for any advice.

My GP did a urine test ... AND I insisted on a blood test 'That Day' to absolutely make sure (didn't want to get DP hope up as he did not know I was late ) !!

... Got that wonderful news the very next day over the phone when the GP asked me to ring her !!

*** Wishing you a trouble free pregnancy & a beautiful pregnancy journey ahead of you BOTH ... CONGRATS !!

Congratulations!!! My GP did a blood test instead of a urine test, cos their urine tests are apparently the same as what we buy over the counter (thats what I was told anyway!!)

    Congrats!!!

This time around I just had a blood test, but with DS I didn't I had the urine test, but that could have been because I didn't do a HPT at all. I'm not sure.

I hope you have a Healthy and happy PG!!

Thank you all for your advice on what to expect on my first visit to the doctors.

I tried to get in to see a doctor yesterday but when I told the receptionist what it was for she said there is only one female doctor here that can see you and she isn't available until 26 Feb so I have to wait until then. I'll prob do another 15 preg test between now and then ! I love living in the country .............

    congratulations!
    I hope all goes well.
I am too just over 4 weeks pregnant! Come and join the oct belly buddies group!

Is there a reason why you have to see a female dr to confirm the pregnancy? Usually they take some bloods and that is it.

THen later on you will have scans etc.

The receptionist at the dr's said she would book me in with a female dr I wasn't sure if it was because they would do a pap test and a few other things so I didn't argue with her.

I am actually going to the dr's today at 12.30pm as all day yesterday I was having stabbing pains in my right shoulder and I read it's a possible symptom of ectopic pregnancy so now I am panicing.
