I went to the Dr on Tues 28/8 complaining of tiredness, nausea, vomitting in the mornings, feeling 'off' my normal food etc, not even thinking about being pg as these symptoms had been haunting me for over 4 weeks. Did a urine test, Dr said I had a urinary tract infection - which was bizarre as I didn't feel anything along those lines were wrong. Dr insisted to take blood to rule out pg, low iron levels etc.
(For all of those who have been told they can't get pg, read on)....
I tell the Dr, don't even bother - 2 GP's and a gynae have said I can't get pg, but go ahead and take the blood if it makes you feel better. So I give the blood.
Thursday afternoon, 30/8 - Dr comments rambling saying iron levels are good, this and that are good - but you're pg. (Dr has extreme accent). I say 'excuse me', Dr says 'you're VERY pg, your hCG is over 53,000. This number means nothing to me until he tells me normal levels are under 25. Then it sinks in. Michael and I laugh, in shock I think!
So to carry on, but thats the whole story! I'm paranoid that something has gone wrong, but I have no signs or anything of a m/c - just worrying knowing me!
that's amazing news leesa!! fantastic, you must be absolutely stoked!! do you mind if i ask how come you'd been told you couldn't get pregnant? don't answer if you don't want to..
