    Im Pregnant

    Hi,

Ive just found out yesterday i am pregnant again - ihave a 8.5 month old... i know this sounds bad - but i dont know if im happy or not.... i havnt told DP yet - trying to get my head around it first.

Its weird - i ovulated CD 18 we DTD CD 20 and im pregnant - it wasnt planned but not really avoided either.... i thought you only had 12 - 24 hours to fetilize the egg

Also im having feelings about if i will love the new baby the same as my 1st.... and i feel like i dont really want to share my love between 2 of them Does that sound mean ... i feel terrible...

I feel so silly saying all this - im pretty confused and im scared..

Scary stuff!!!!! We are all here to support you at BB - so try to cheer up and enjoy the miraculous beginning of life inside of you.

    Hi congrats on your pg...
I fell pg with our second when the first was 8 months, at the time I was scared but the idea of two so young does grow on you.
My sister is 7 months pg and like you in the begining she didnt really know if she wanted another ( her 4th ) but as time has gone on she has come to terms with it and is now verry happy about the prospect of having another bub around.
So hang in there and let your partner know and enjoy this special time together.

meegm - firstly congrats .... I can relate to how you are feeling as DH and I have that conversation all the time! When you have such a strong feeling for your little one it is very hard to even think about - how do I share this love?? But I am sure as your pregnancy progress you will over come this... Wishing you a wonderful and exciting 9 months babe....

meegm - we had an oopsie when my DD was 9.5 months old. Like you i was like 'how could this have happened'. I was breastfeeding too and hadnt had AF post birth......Dh and i took a bit of getting used to. But now, she is 5 months old and the cheekiest little poppet. We wonder how our household was without her. She brings us, and my other two girls so much joy....it was meant to be obviously. Enjoy this special time. ...you will get used to the idea........this little person was meant to be in your lives.......Good luck.

Aww Meegm - firstly big hug! :hugs:

I completely understand where your head it at right now. I thought that I was pregnant last week and was freaking out! Half happy if I was, half terrified if I was. Luckily when I tested (it took me a week and a half to work up the courage!), it was a BFN.

I totally get the "Will I love this child as much as I love the first?" thoughts... I find that difficult to imagine too.

Life doesn't always go the way we plan. We think we've got it all figured out, then life throws a curve ball.

I'm sure you're scared, excited and just not sure what to feel, but in the end, it will all be wonderful I promise.

    Congratulations babe!

Hey Clesie, How are you ..... you know i feel terrible coz so many ladies just want so bad to be pregnant and for me it has been very easy.....

Im slowly getting used to the idea... Im worried about work..

I am due to go back properly (im doing 24 hours but at home at the moment) in May - the girl whom is doing my current role in house is fulltime and her contract ends in July NOW do i totally stuff up my job and tell them im pregnant or stuff them up by not tellling them and go on maternity leave in October ?????????

I guess i have to look after myself and we get paid maternity leave so i want that ... I think i wont say anything for a few months not yet anyway....

God my head is such a mess

Celsie - Hows Caleb getting big Now i bet ... he's 8 months now isnt he..

Congratulations...wishing you all the very best for a H&H journey.

I remember feeling very much the same when I fell pregnant with #2, although my DS was almost 2....I felt sad for him because he wasn't going to be my baby anymore. "could I possibly have enough love to love another"...these feelings disappeared and resurfaced again just before DD was born. Looking back now, I think for the most part it was hormones.

    All the best....

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!

You WILL love your new bub just as much as your first, it is amazing how you can have enough love for two!

When I was pg with #2 I found this article written by Kelly really comforting: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/baby/loving-two-children

Aww firstly congrats on your pregnancy!I have a 9 mth old who will be 17 months old once number 2 arrives and it was an unexpected pregnancy and I am still getting my head around it all- just the thought of 2 seats, prams etc makes me feel tired.

I think that is why pregnancy is 9 mths long- it gives us time to get used to the idea and although at times I dont feel like I could ever love another baby as much as Iz Im sure those feelings will pass once this little one arrives. Ive heard someone say that the love you have for one isnt split between the two but rather your love multiplies with each new child. I love that thought.

Good luck telling your partner - I think you should do it and you might then feel more supported. I think its ok to cry and feel like you aren't ready and then move onto to getting prepared and excited.
:hugs: to you and let us know how you go!

    congratulations!

i fell pg with my second when Nixon was 9months old. i had already accepted a job to go back to work 2 days a week in the May. i waited until i was past my 12weeks before telling them & only end up being there only 4months.
you are not onblicted to tell them so i wouldnt just yet.

maybe once you have an ultrasound and see your little bub in your belly it will start to seem more real iykwim?

and somehow we do just share our love between as many children as we have!
have u told your partner yet?

Hi and congrats on a miracle!!

I know all work places are different, but at my work as long as I returned to work as planned 12 months after taking my Maternity Leave for #1, I was allowed to leave 6 weeks before EDD, without a certificate, and be entitled to another lot of paid leave. It was fortunate for me though that only ended up being 1.5 days to get another 3 months pay, as I went into early labor at 31 weeks, and was given strick instructions from Hospital no work. I was so happy (not about early labor, but that I got another 3 months pay for working 1.5 days) . I would speak to your HR, you might find out something similiar.

I hope your feeling better about it all now. How exciting, having two close, is the best thing ever. Of course we have our bad days, but so does everyone so matter the age gap. They are so close, they love to play together, and they keep each other amuzed with is good.

Good luck with it all hun, I'm sure you will love each of them as much as the other, and make a fantastic super mum.

    Take care.

Fantastic news hun!!! It really does take a while to sink in doesn't it, and I keep looking at Izzy and hoping that I can give her the attention she needs once bubby is here, but I keep telling myself it will be fine, thousands of other people do it and so can we!!
