Went to the doctor this afternoon to get the results of my blood test- and yep, I'm UTD! Sort of expected yes, but there was still that little niggling in the back of my mind that it could be no...
So just got the routine bloods done, now have to decide if we are going to go public, or get some private health care and go private, so she can write a referral for an OB.
Only probably about 4-5 weeks, rough guess, as silly me forgot to write down when my last AF was
Next thing is telling my parents. That's gonna be fun...NOT! I know exactly what they are going to say, and I know that they are not exactly going to be thrilled with the news! But, we told DF's mum a couple of days ago as we knew she would be cool with it, and she was. So at least I know that she is happy for us and will be supportive, too bad she's at the other end of the country!
EDD is 28 June 09, so fingers crossed for a healthy next 9 months! No doubt I will posting here a lot more now!
Congratulations!!!
Perhaps if you are apprehensive about telling your folks you can hold off telling them until you reach the 12 week 'safe' mark? Just a suggestion! I'm sure they will end up being happy with your news no matter what. Some folks need to 'warm-up' to the idea before getting excited.

Thanks everyone We are excited, but it still doesn't feel real! It happened so quickly, I must have fallen PG straight after coming off the pill, I don't think either of us thought it would happen that fast, we were thinking at least a couple of months!
JellyBean- yep, we will definitely be waiting a few more weeks before telling them. I would like to wait until 12 weeks, but DF is very excited and wanting to tell the whole world! Might wait until my mum gets back from holidays in Perth and tell them then... would feel bad if I told her now because I just know she would spend the next 2 weeks worrying and stressing over it.
Amy- thanks for the suggestion! It's a big decision to make in such a short period of time, but if we go private we have to find affordable cover with no waiting periods, I think a couple of them have offers at the moment with no waiting periods, so we'll have to have a look. This is our first, and I kind of have no idea where to start! So thanks to BB, I'm sure I would be stressing so much more if it wasn't here!
I think anywhere else you would be fine to go public - but Wagga Base really leaves much to be desired. You should at least go and have a tour there and if you like it then stay public. If only Wagga had a birth centre!!!!!
Fingers crossed they will build one when they (eventually) build the new hospital.
Good luck with whatever you decide. If you need a friend to chat and have a coffee with PM me
