No use trying to hide it... I'm preggers!

As with my first try, I was expecting a 2nd conception to be difficult.
I'm not into taking temperatures and charting etc. And hubby & I barely have enough energy to DTD that much.

I'm 39yo, and I've got a 10 month old. I know that age wasn't on my side! When I fell pregnant last time, the u/s picked up a huge cyst on my ovary, and my wonderful Ob (prof Euan Wallace) cut it off successfully when I had an emergency c/s.

So I worked out approximate dates when I should have "O'd"... and tried to make an effort to go to bed before 2am. Maybe abstinence makes better quality sperm, because bingo!!

So, by my dates - I'm due 5th December.
I'm not going to find out sex of baby this time (although DH wants to).
Last pregnancy I suffered from terrible morning sickness for months (that has returned with avengence!), really bad swelling (particularly in the ankles), sleep apnoea, and I think carpal tunnel. This time DH is being a LOT more attentive, and is trying to get me to rest as much as possible. He is insisting on taking care of Shaun as much as he can. And just now he phoned his mum in Israel and told her about the pregnancy - and it sounds like she will come and visit us in Australia!!!! I would be soooo happy if she came to visit us. She is such a beautiful woman, and I am sure DH misses her. With two babies under 18 months - I'm not sure when we will be able to travel back over there.

I was going to try to keep my pregnancy a "secret" for the 12 weeks, so that I could feel a little more secure about it. But it's virtually impossible. On Wednesday I told my close friend. On Thursday DH told his best friend. On Friday I told my "may mums" on BB... and tonight we told MIL. So I'm making a formal announcement now.

With my intense morning (all day) sickness, I feel confident that everything will be okay. This feels just like #1. I am so happy that I'm pregnant again. DH is already talking about having another one!! WTF?!?! He thinks he's a bit of a stud at the moment !

Looking forward to sharing my journey with all the BB members, particularly those that have just discovered they are pregnant too.
