I have been bleeding since Wednesday this week, its exactly like a period, minus the cramps. I went in for an ultra sound on Thursday, which confirmed that everything is ok, but i cant shake this feeling of dread. I'm running to the toilet every 15 minutes to check whether it has stopped. Its so emotionally draining, i'm trying not to stress, but i cant help crying I'd love to hear from anyone who has been in the same situation, to give me a bit of hope.
Hi Hayley
Bleeding in pregancny is a very scarey thing. I havent experienced myself but there are lots of people that have bled in pregnancy and everything turns out fine. Some times women bleed around the time they would get their period if they were not pregnant. There are heaps of posts and articles that will help you out. Maybe read this one: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/pregna...g-in-pregnancy
If u/s confirmed everything is OK then things should be OK. Just try to relax and put your feet up. I hope everything works out for you.
Easier said than done but try not to stress, the ultrasound showed everything was fine so keep thinking about that!
I had bleeding at 6 weeks in my first pregnancy, I even had cramps which was really scary, and it lasted for a few days, then went away for a few days, then started all over again! But then it all finished and the pregnancy went on as normal, and now I have a 2 and a half year old and another on the way!
A lot of women bleed during pregnancy, and go on to have normal babies, so please try not to worry. My girlfriend had regular periods til 6 months and didn't even realise she was pregnant til then!
hi - i haven't been pg myself for more than a few weeks, but i am CONSTANTLY being told of the hell i put my mum through when she was pg with me - she bled off and on for the whole pregnancy, went into early labour, managed to stop it, then, me starting out as stubborn as i've been my whole life, i turned up late! i know how scarey it can be - i hope it stops soon for you and the rest of your pg is nice and smooth for you
It's an awful feeling and even though you have had an ultrasound, it is still terrifying to find blood that often.
I bled on and off till 14 weeks, sometimes it was heavy with big clots for days at a time. It was very very stressful and I cried so much during that time. I had 4 ultrasounds all up by 12 weeks as my dr was sure at one stage I had lost the baby.
I am still pregnant with a very active baby boy , I'm almost 30 weeks now so 3/4's of the way there. The bleeding has stopped and scans have showed my baby is very healthy and growing well.
Just keep your feet up, try and keep positive, read positive stories and just know it's much more common than people think to bleed in pregnancy. Many who do go on to have healthy babies.
again and please come here just to vent or for support, it really helped during that time for me to post here because so many ladies understood what I was going through.
I had bleeding at 13 weeks with my last pg and he is fine but it is very scary. My cousin had normal periods for 5 months as did my grandma so it definitely happens. I realise its impossible to not worry but just know that others have been there and it worked out OK.
Thank you everyone for your replies, they have made me feel a lot better about the situation. On a happier note, the bleeding has pretty much stopped, Yay! I'm still going to the Doc today for a blood test to check hormone levels, but i'm feeling a lot more positive now!
Hayley - great news that all is ok.
Also had bleeding for a few weeks during 1st trim, nothing to heavy, but certainly enough to get me worried - and everything turned out ok.
Hope the rest is smooth sailing for you!
It's so reassuring reading all these posts. I am at 5 weeks and going through the same thing. I have to wait a week to get in for an U/S though so I have a whole week of worrying ahead of me. I'm so glad there are others who have gone through it and still went on to have healthy babies.
