12 week scan time. Anyone due around 14th Feb 2008

Hi everyone, Its almost that time when we get that important 12 week scan.

I had a MC for my last pregnancy and I am freaking already. I still have 1.5 weeks to go untill 12 weeks, but it still is lingering in my mind.

I feels like the finishing line is so close now. Are all you stressing too?

I got to see a heart beat at 7.5 weeks, so I hope to see one again.

    Good luck to all.

    Hi there,

If you are really freaking out about the h/beat you could call your local drs office and ask if they have a fetal doppler? Mine does but I haven't needed to use it thank goodness!

You should also join in the Feb due belly buddies if you haven't already:-)

Hi 2 please, wow this is freaky. I am also due 14/2/2008 and i also had a m/c last year in dec, i too keep telling my husband that i am scared and the same as you i too saw a heart beat at exactually 7.5 weeks, i guess that we can both stress together, but honestly i feel and keep telling myself that that if our baby's have heartbeats then we just need to stay positive and we will both be fine. I am so happy that i have found someone that i can share this journey with. I dont mind keeping in touch with you if you like, i can give you my email address so we can compare stuff if you like. Rosa, that would be fantastic. Some days I can be positive, but others I just stress about anything and everything.(Hormones I guess.)

I really would love it if we both got through this. Then we could laugh and enjoy the rest of the pregnancies together. I would love to talk by sending e mails too.

Hindonly Yes I should ask that. Do you know if it will work now though? I am only little, and I heard that helps.

Does anyone else know about dooplers? I havent used one and I know you can buy them.

The dopplers that the Drs have can generally hear from 10wks or so it wouldn't hurt to give them a call if you really are worried. At least it may ease your anxiety! If you were closer to me I'd say come on over and try mine! Dont be alarmed though if they cant hear it you may just need to wait a little while longer. Another option is to go to the maternity ward of the hospital you'll be attending and ask them to check on their machines. They'll pick it up no trouble with the equipment:-)
And with your ticker you'll need to copy & paste one of the other options they give you...then it should work. Just preview it til you see the picture:-)

    Hi,

I too had a miscarriage last year, it was my first pregnancy. I reach 12 weeks on Tuesday and it has been a long time coming. I have my scan on Wednesday. I also had 2 scans last weeks as I had some spotting but all was fine with bubs. They said I did not need to come in next week, but I said I would be there with bells on, just so I can ease my mind that all is OK.

My GP has been fantastic, sending me off for scans when ever I want one, just to ease my mind. I had one at 7 weeks, and was going to hold out until the 12 week one, but then the spotting happened.

You can always ask for one now, just to ease your mind....I know what you mean about the stress. Every little thing makes me worry.

Take care, I am sure that all will be fine. Please come and join is in the Feb due group, would love to have another person to talk to!

    Hi,

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and all is still well with the little one. I know exactly how you feel. I m/c last pg and have been anxious all the way through this one. I even nearly threw up out of nerves before going to the scan. It was reassuring to see the little one thrashing around like a person possessed.
Hang in there you will be fine.

I was told today by a midwife that dooplers couldnt be used till 16 weeks. That you wouldnt hear anything coz your uterus is behind your pubic bone. She also said ultra sounld machine where only as good as the person who is using it.

Gee, didnt I crash and burn. My confidence in the medical world dropped right off today.

My stress levels hit an all time high.

So I said, why do I need a doopler, coz by then the baby will probably be moving.

What do you guys think? Do you agree with the midwife about the dooplers?

See my priv. message okay. This midwife is completely wrong since I've used dopplers twice for preg and could easily locate and differentiate between my h/beat and my bubs! And I could find h/beats betwee 10 and 12 wks too:-) I'm v. happy with mine!!
