    12week Ultrasound Referal?

Im wondering if i can use my referal from my doctor for the 12 week scan anywhere??
Im a bit iffy, the doc told me i can use it any where, i booked at a place, and the receptionist was rather rude to me when i called in to double check something, so im now stressing that they might not accept my referal just because its not printed on their companies referal paper...
It may sound really silly, but this is my first time, and so far not even my doctor has been able to help me the way i would like to be helped...she told me one thing about getting my bloods done, and i read another thing, which ends up to be right, so what if this whole referal thing is another misleading part of info?? Id hate to be rejected for my ultrasound im having this thursday. Especially when the receptionist at the place is so mean to me for just asking a simple question about the blood test i have to get done.

Im not sure.. all my referrals have been to one place and on the companies stationary.

If i was you id be finding a new DR for yourself. Ring the U/S place again, maybe you will have some luck and get a different person... or just flat out say 'This is my first baby, i need to know these answers and id like some help'.

I am using a different ultrasound place to the one on my referral. I spoke to the receptionist upon booking and she did not have a problem with it, I have been there before though. I was originally advised by a relative, who is in the medical profession, that it does not matter which company's paperwork the referral is on, any company is able to accept the referral if they provide the service. Good Luck

Hi TA- I had a referral for one place when I had to get an U/S done at 15 weeks as I was having some pains. That place (that the referral was printed on) were booked up so I rang elsewhere and booked and they were happy to accept the referral. I agree with Kim - maybe ring and see how you go, they should be happy to help - if not, I would be thinking about going elsewhere anyway hun. Like you said, its your first baby, and you want to get the help and support you need. Good luck and let us know how you go.

    Thanks so much girls,
Im just so fed up with the lack of help ive been getting. My doc doesnt seem to know her stuff, and the receptionist is just rude, and all i did was ask when im actually supposed to get the bloods done and what happens with the results.
Seems the only person that has been the most helpful has been the pathologist who took my bloods last friday, she knew what she was doing and just made it all okay, i was worried about where the results were ebing sent and she asked me where to send them without me mentioning it, so that made me feel somewhat at ease.
Oh, and you girls on here
I think ill call up on wednesday and ask a few questions, i dont even know who is doing my ultrasound

I went to a different place for an ultrasound. They told me that as long as I have a current referral it really doesnt matter where I have it done.
