Exclamation 6 weeks pregnant - spotting?

    Hi ladies,

I woke up this morning to some dark red/brown spotting - should I be concerned? I have rhesus negative blood and DP has positive, will I need those shots?

This is my first pregnancy so I have no experience! I am only 6 weeks (7 tomorrow).

    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi steph,

I understand that spotting in early pregnancy can be normal, but always best to check with your doctor, even if it's just for your peace of mind. Hope all is okay.

    Hope you're feeling ok Steph?
From what I know dark red/brown blood is old blood it's the fresh bright red that is the most concerning. And like it's been said spotting is very common in early pregnancy but scary all the same. X

It's very common. Sometimes it's nothing, sometimes it's bad news. But the only thing you can do is wait and stay positive. I know, easier said than done. I hope all is fine, the fact that it's stopped is promising! Hang in there

No spotting since Tuesday, but that shot really knocked me around. The nurse who gave it to me said I have 3 choices - watch and wait, get a referral from them for a scan (which will cost about $600) or go to A&E at the hospital and go through them and get a scan for free. I have a dating scan on Monday so I figured I can wait until then since there isn't anything they can do anyway. Besides, I don't like sick people so going to A&E for me is not gonna happen unless it's dire (like once when I passed out with low BP and put a hole in my wall with my head and couldn't sit up cos my BP got so low lol).

But since it was dark I am not too worried, probably old blood from ages ago, but I'm glad I had the shot.
