I know exactly how you feel. I was so sure that something would go wrong within the first trimester for both pregnancies or that when I went for the 18 week u/s, they would say that i wasn't pregnant and was making it up (even though I already had a beachball under my shirt). Not entirely rational, but couldn't help it. I found positive thinking did wonders for me. Whenever I thought of something negative, I imagined holding my baby, feeding him or something along those lines. It was a struggle sometimes but it did work. I also stopped reading all the articles/stories about what could go wrong and focused on how I felt physically. If physically I felt something wasn't right, then off to the doctor/midwife (whoever was free first). It can be a scary time, especially the first time, but it is so worth it.
Thanks everyone your advice is invaluble. Well I saw little ones heart beat and he even has chubby cheeks I was so so so releived. Its so hard to be positive this little bubby took way too long to get and im scared it is too good to be true. But seeing that little bundle yesterday has put me on cloud nine. Im planning on staying there now. Thanks again girls
No I want a suprise and so does my beautiful hubby. all this ivf business sort of takes the romance away from having a baby so now we just want to be excited and surprised..
I am so glad the scan went well for you.
There is always a sense of anxiety when it comes to scans but try to look for the positives each scan you get a little glimpse into the world of your developing child, its so amazing.
Wishing you a happy and healthy pregancy, if you relax enough and pay close attention you may even feel some early fluttering (just feels a bit like gas).
Oh BTW I am 19 weeks and still get cramping and days where I feel off and other where I feel great .... its all part of this wonderful ride
