If your blood is negetive and the baby's father's is positive or unknown then you have Anti-D -- if the baby's father is also a negetive blood type then it is unneeded as there isn't a chance of your baby being positive. Bub either gets their blood type from you or the father.
I'm sure somebody else can explain it a bit better but one of the reasons you might not have had it is because both parents are negetive blood types. Not sure otherwise.

but I don't think we've ever been asked about dh's blood type... We have an appt with the ob on Thursday so I think I will definately ask him about this...
