    Advice needed

I'm about 6 weeks pregnant and can't help stressing over ever single little thing. I feel quite silly to be honest as this is my second pregnancy.. I thought I'd be better this time around but I am stressing a lot more.

I've got a sore shoulder/neck - I feel like I've pulled a muscle. It's not constant pain, more so just pain when I move it... It definately feels like a muscle.

However, I am now occasionally having a slight pain to the left of my belly button (In line with my belly button though, not any lower). Not really when I am sitting still but notice it occasionally when I am moving about. It's not a bad pain but enough for me to notice (Once again, definately not constant)

I can't help stressing though that I am having an eptopic pregnancy. I have no abdominal pains, no bleeding etc... Just the two above things. Am I stressing over nothing? Would bleeding come first?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Hey,
I had the belly button pain, I read up about it and its normal for some women to get it. Its to do with your abdominal muscles seperating to allow space for the growing uterus.
Although, if it would make you feel better to get checked out, then dont hesitate to do so - It cant hurt. But to me everything seems normal.
With the neck pain, is it possible you may have slept wrong??

    Good luck and Congratulations!

Thanks for your reply... That makes me feel a little bit better. I guess if it gets any worse I may head for my GP. I wasn't too concered about my neck/shoulder until the belly button pain started but it's nice to know other's have had it. I've only noticed the belly button pain twice since I posted - Both times being when I picked DS up. Maybe I need to take it easy....

My neck/shoulder actually started hurting yesterday - I am wondering if I put it out somehow by carrying DS around constantly yesterday (He's unwell). Having next to no sleep last night due to DS probably didn't make my neck any better.

I feel so silly stressing over every little thing.

    Hi Hayles
I am also stressing much more this time (I think )than last time that something will go wrong. I think it is bc I am much more aware of what can happen...
I have also had niggles and 'twangs' but I think with anything serious it would be more constant...
i think it is easy to come up with these scenarios in our minds when you put things together.
IMO with an ectopic you would have the shoulder pain AFTER other symptoms as it is referred pain - i am not sure though.
I honestly think it is nothing to worry about but if you are really worried in a day or so then go get checked - it cant hurtand will give you peace of mind.

    Hi Hayles,

Your symptoms sound like what I had at the beginning of this week. I'm 6wks pg. I had the sore shoulders/neck and I couldnt sleep due to the pain. I couldnt get comfortable. Plus, I had the left belly button side with cramping/pain.

But today all is good. No pain in belly, shoulders or neck. Hopefully, its a passing thing. Hang in there.

I'm feeling much better. Still getting random pains here, there and everywhere but they are few and far between and only every now and then, not constant. I'm being really positive, hopefully it's just stretching. Ultrasound on Monday, really nervous but can't wait!!

Thanks everyone. Preagainpan and sam_lyle - I'm so glad other's are having similar symtoms. Makes me feel less crazy.

Just wanted to say that with ectopic the pain in the shoulder is at the shoulder tip not in the muscle so it's not likely to be that.

I remember early in my pregnancy getting shoulder pain & getting worried about it too, but it was nothing.
