Went in for an ultrasound today. She couldn't get a clear picture so an internal one was done.

Basically, she could see a gestational sac and a yolk sac and that was it. No baby, nothing.

The report say's, and I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I understand the most of it, but some parts....

Findings: There is an early intrauterine gestational sac measuring 1.5cm with a yolk sac identified.

At this early stage of pregnancy no foetal pole or cardiac actvity is yet seen. A small subchorinic haemorrage is noted in relation to the sac measuring 1.4cm.

    Conclusion:
    1. Follow - up ultrasound in 7 to 10 days time recommended.
    2. Early intra - uterine gestation.
    3. Small subchorionic heamorrage present.

Try to keep positive until you have your next scan. It sounds like there is still hope.

How far along are you, Trish?

In my experience, I was supposed to be 8 weeks preg but the yolk sac was only 5 weeks in size and no foetal pole. I also had the small bleed that's mentioned above. I too had the follow up scan the next week and by then, they definitely should have seen the foetal pole and ideally, a heartbeat too. Unfortunately for me, they didn't. But that's why I ask how far along you are because it could be just too early to see any of that stuff yet. Don't give up yet!

I've heard many stories of people who thought all was lost and then saw that magical heartbeat at the next scan. I'm praying that will be the case for you too, Trish. This time in limbo is the worst and I'm sorry you have to experience it. Be kind to yourself, sweet.

Aww Trish Ive only just seen this. I had the same situation with Sammy with early bleeding and then basically the same as what has been written in your notes..to go back two weeks later to see a beautiful little heart beat. Please dont give up hope and stick little bubba stick.

    Jo
