Bleeding at 6 weeks - Confused and Scared- Please Help
Hi all,
I recently found out i was pregnant. According to blood tests i am 6 weeks pregnant.
Yesterday morning i went to the toilet and saw blood on the toilet paper. I wiped my self several times and saw 3 clots the size of a 20 cent piece on the paper. there was a lot of blood. ( sorry if tmi)
I immediately burst into tears fearing a miscarriage and went straight to emergency room.
The doctor examined me and said the cervix was still closed but was unable to perform a proper ultrasound as my bladder was not full but could see a small sack in my uterus.
She told me that it was a threatened misarriage and that i had to have complete bed rest til monday when an ultrasound would be performed. She also said that it could be an implantation bleed? my hcg levels had also risen from the day before ( this has got to be a good thing right)
The bleeding eased about two hours later and has now completely stopped. FREAKING OUT!!!!
I've had bleeding early in 2 pregnancies. One ended in a missed miscarriage, one continued. It is very scary but there's nothing you can do except what you're already doing. Rest up and try to stay as calm as you can. It's good the bleeding has stopped. Stay off google, it just makes you more anxious.
It does not mean you will lose your tiny bubs - yes some bleeds indicate a miscarriage but many women bleed due to residual implantation blood, late implantation, a lose cervix etc and baby is fine. Just rest up and think of the positives if you can - I know someone who bled heaps early in pregnancy and assumed she had miscarried but lo and behold baby was still alive and growing.
Hugs
I have bled with all my kids, bleeding doesnt always mean lose. Ask for a HCG test, this blood test checks your hormone levels and can give you a better idea of whats going on
I had similar with my 2nd pregnancy & now have a 10week old beautiful boy. Like the others said there's not much to do but what you are already doing & rest up. Fingers crossed all is well come Monday dahl.
