Maybebaby - I had the same at 8 weeks! Was told to expect the worst etc. Had another big bleed at 11 weeks.
All along bubs was fine.
I had a large sub chorionic haematoma, (also seen on the opposite side of where bubs nestled!) which was seen at my 11 week scan, ironically that night is when I had the massive bleed.
I certainly know its hard not to stress, personally as long as I knew bubs was ok, then I was ok.
I'm still spotting, at 16 weeks. As far as I've been told it can resolve itself, and will usually go away by 20 weeks.
Just rest, lots of fluid, and no aspirin (like I was on!)

oh maybe.. no advice but just wanted to send you a big fat . i'm sure everything is fine. screw what the DR says, if you want another blood test, go and get one.
Oh Maybe! Try not to stress (although easier said than done!). I can understand how you are feeling
Your "bruise" sounds like what I had at 5w6d with my son. It was called a Subchorionic Haematoma or Haemorrage. Basically when the egg implants into the wall, some blood can come away and form a clot or a "bruise". Either you bleed it out or it is reabsorbed by your body. I only had the one bleed but it was scary as heck.
I have my fingers crossed that everything is fine and settles down - but seeing bubba in there with a healthy heartbeat (and it definately isn't too fast ... mine were always around that speed at that gestation) has to definately be a good sign. Sometimes things you eat can have an effect on bubba's heartrate too.
