I have also had a blighted ovum, which wasn't picked up until 13 weeks, when I started heavily bleeding and big chunks of hard blood came out of me
But I have also had super early scans with following pregnancies, and have had the same thing happen, couldn't see a fetal pole, but there was a sac. So I'm sure its all good, as your HCG is increasing and you have strong symptoms, so don't stress, good luck for tomorrow
I had my first scan done at 5w 6d. Couldn't see a fetal pole at all, just the sack. She managed to just pick up the heartbeat but almost missed it entirely. As you can see from my sig, that sack is now almost 36 weeks along and cooking beautifully. Try not to worry too much, your first scan was very early. Hope all goes well tomorrow
I agree with the previous posts it sounds as though everything is normal and it was just too early. Whilst mine did end in a mc I had a scan at 6+4 which only showed the ges sac and yolk sac and there was a lot of talk about blighted ovums ( the embryo didnt appear until 8+3) BUT my HCG peaked at 9500 and was only going up by very small amounts (around 200) every 4 days, I was bleeding and I had lost all pg symptoms other than my breasts so don't give up hope just yet as your hcg levels and symptoms are a very good sign that all is normal
With my blighted ovum, there was no yolk sac or fetal pole to be seen. I miscarried at 8w3d.
With DD3, they could see a sac and a yolk sac but no fetal pole at 6w5d. I was told to come back in 2 weeks to have a follow up or just see how it goes. I opted for "see how it goes." At the NT scan I could plainly see a perfect little bubba in there.
Wishing you all the best. I am sure everything will be perfect
