phynna, i went from a 14c to a 14f by the time i was 20 weeks when i was preg with dd. I guess all bodies are different! Some people don't change at all, or only go up one size.
I'd go into maternity bras when your normal ones become uncomfortable.
thanks everyone. Going on last time, I don't think I will change at all. Hubby felt ripped off as my boobs didn't change. So far no change either. Might still fit into the old maternity bras from last time. Have to go give them a try.
It's a good idea to stop wearing underwire as soon as you know you are pg. Even if your boobs don't get bigger, the tissue in them is changing and you can get blocked milk ducts from the underwire.
The larger size maternity bras are harder to come by, but you can get them. The very best place is Mothers' Direct (the ABA store). They have a great range of maternity bras even in the bigger sizes. I love their range as they have really attractive ones unlike the usual boring bunch. If you are in Melb, Syd or Bris, you can go in store to be fitted. Otherwise you can order online if you know your size.
Otherwise the department stores such as DJs and Myer have an ok range, and a very small range (if at all) in the larger sizes. Some of the brands have outlet stores with a better range. If you are having trouble you could try ringing the manufacturers to find out where they send their larger size stock to. Or you could always go and be fitted at Myer and order from Mothers Direct (shh, did I say that?).
I'm almost finished being pregnant and it honestly depends on which bra i'm wearing. I had to wear a bra 24hrs a day for the first two months because any weight on mine was pure agony without one.
I ended up ripping the underwire out of a few of mine when that started getting uncomfortable around 25 weeks.
Now for some reason most of my old bras still fit me, and depending on which one i'm wearing (underwire or no underwire) i'm fine. Different brands feel better with the wire ripped out and some with that extra support save my day.
I'll probably buy a few maternity bras in the next few weeks or so. (if i can find any in my huge size!!)
