Hi All,
this is my second pregnancy but I can't remember last time when I stopped wearing my bras with underwire. I am nine weeks and maybe I should stop now. Does anyone know?
thanks

I think when you no longer fit your regular bras it is a good idea to start wearing mat or soft cup bras.
Hi,
Congratulations !
I remember with my first pregnancy, i stopped wearing my underwire around 9 weeks cause they became so uncomfortable. Too tight ! I had got to the point where it hurt my back to wear it.
So, i went and got fitted for a wire free bra that the lady said should get me through till i needed to get fitted for a maternity bra.
Needless to say i was back there 3 weeks later cause i had put on so much weight and my boobs had ballooned beyond beliefThe poor lady couldnt believe it !
She put me straight in a maternity bra.
Thats just my experience. Not sure if there is a general rule as to when you should stop with wire bras.
I think - the sooner the better- but i know of people who dont change bra types at all.
Good luck !
Once you start getting uncomfortable then I would change over. I think I was 20wks with this pregnancy, but I don't have big breasts and they don't change much.
My suggestion would be to have a proper fitting done.
I think the general recommendation is that you should stop wearing underwires by the time you reach 20 weeks because your milk glands are forming/changing and the underwires can cause problems.
I think I got my maternity bras at around 13 or 14 weeks. I couldn't believe it, I had gone from a C cup to an E cup! I'm still wearing the ones I bought then, so for me most of my growing was done early on. I must admit though, I much prefer wearing a sports bra to a maternity bra. I think sports bra helps to minimise your bust, which for me makes me feel better about my appearance. But when bubs come I'm guess I'm going to have to settle for the maternity bras...
I actually moved to no underwire about the same time as the BFP, cos my BBs were SO sore. I'd also already gone up a cup. So I've been alternating 2 wireless bras ever since. It's more comfortable.
phynna, i went from a 14c to a 14f by the time i was 20 weeks when i was preg with dd. I guess all bodies are different! Some people don't change at all, or only go up one size.
I'd go into maternity bras when your normal ones become uncomfortable.![]()
