    Brisbane maternity shops

Hi all... I know its a little early as I am not really showing at 10 weeks but just wondering if there are any good maternity shops. I see Big W sells maternity clothes as well. Looking for 'office wear'. I live on the northside. Thanks!

Caz, firstly a HUGE congratulations on your pregnancy!! I got things from Big W and I think K Mart when I was pg. One thing for this season is a lot of the "normal" clothes would be great for maternity use just buy in a bigger size I did this with some singlet tops from Best n Less and they worked really well. The other place I bought a few things from was actually off ebay. If you would like a bit more info (seller name) feel free to email me achoffmann at bigpond dot com. I'd be more than happy to help you as much as I can. Where on the northside are you? I'm in Burpengary.

I found some good pieces at Target. As Oz said a lot of the fashion atm suit the pg bod. I also got a few things from Room 4 2 - they are expensive but are designed especially for our changing bodies so could be worth the initial investment.

Haven't been there but I am told there is a great place at Brendale.

Hope you have a great pregnancy

There are two great places in brendale, one second hand and the other outlet on southpine road. I found them in the yellow pages. They even have the bellies to put on so you can see how it will look when you have a bump! Chermside shopping centre have 1 or 2 maternity shops but the prices string a little.

They are kind of in the industrial estate on the main drag... I recommend them for sure!

I bought 3 things from room 4 2 in the city and it cost me $220!!!! I was a bit shocked but I work across the road so it was more convienience.

    Hi Caz

I am yet to find somewhere in Brisbane which sells nice affordable maternity wear. I'm not happy about spending $79.95 for ONE pair of work pants and about the same price for a top. That makes a very expensive work outfit especially when you only wear them for a limited time. I am very fussy with clothes. Some of the maternity stores I've been in look like they sell only "old lady" clothes, they seem to think when you're pregnant, you need to wear tents to hide everything.

I have bought all of my maternity clothes from ebay. There are stores on ebay which sell pants from about $19.95 and tops from about $15.95. I've bought swimwear for $22.95, Berlei maternity bra's for $19.95 and lots of tops ranging in price from $9.95 up to $29.95. Most stores allow you to exchange if you're unsure about sizes. I've bought pretty much everything I need now (pants, tops, bras, togs etc) for just under $220.00.

Take a look and see what you think ..........

There's a place over here on the southside at Waterford called Joy's maternity. They sell new and secondhand maternity wear. I don't know anywhere at the northside. I got some nice maternity clothes from kmart when I was pregnant... Pretty cheap aswell.

yea sounds all good, thank you - I can't wait to go shopping. So does Kmart sell maternity wear? I went to Target on the weekend and couldn't really see anything that would look good for a baby bump. I also need to get bigger bras. I dont want to spend a huge fortune too, I work in an office so have to find office wear - that's gonna be expensive too!

Love those baby doll tops that are in fashion now - perfect for preg. tums.

    Take care
